Job Summary
Business Analyst for ISG with extensive experience in Guidewire platform and insurance solutions responsible for gathering requirements driving end to end business analysis and optimizing policy billing and claims workflows in a hybrid work model. The role ensures alignment between stakeholder expectations and digital portal capabilities while improving operational efficiency and customer outcomes across insurance processes.
Responsibilities
- Lead comprehensive requirements gathering sessions with business stakeholders to translate complex insurance operations into clear functional specifications that align with ISG objectives and deliver measurable process improvements across policy billing and claims workflows.
- Drive structured business analysis using Jira and related tools to document user stories acceptance criteria and functional designs that support seamless implementation across Guidewire PolicyCenter BillingCenter and ClaimCenter applications.
- Coordinate end to end solution validation by mapping current state and target state processes ensuring that Guidewire Ins Suite Fundamental capabilities are leveraged effectively to reduce manual work and enhance data consistency.
- Collaborate closely with cross functional teams including product owners architects and quality analysts to refine functional requirements and ensure that Guidewire digital portal features deliver intuitive and efficient customer and agent experiences.
- Oversee configuration and functional design activities in Guidewire Studio by providing detailed guidance to implementation teams and ensuring that each configuration decision aligns with regulatory compliance operational resilience and long term maintainability.
- Provide structured impact analysis for proposed changes across PolicyCenter BillingCenter and ClaimCenter modules assessing dependencies risks and downstream effects on reporting financial reconciliation and customer service performance.
- Develop clear test scenarios and functional validation criteria based on requirements ensuring that implemented features in Guidewire platform meet business objectives support audit readiness and maintain consistency across core and digital components.
- Support production readiness activities by reviewing functional cutover plans data migration assumptions and post deployment monitoring strategies to minimize disruption and ensure stable adoption of new Guidewire capabilities in day to day operations.
- Guide stakeholders through solution walkthroughs and system demonstrations that highlight how new Guidewire features address key pain points improve straight through processing and enable better decision making across underwriting billing and claims handling.
- Document detailed business rules and configuration logic for insurance workflows enabling reusable artifacts that support knowledge transfer faster onboarding and continuous optimization of Guidewire based solutions within ISG.
- Partner with change management and training teams to create practical guidance for end users so that new features and process changes in the Guidewire suite are easily understood adopted quickly and translated into improved customer outcomes.
- Analyze operational metrics and user feedback to recommend incremental enhancements in Guidewire applications ensuring that the platform continues to evolve with business strategy regulatory needs and market expectations.
Qualifications
- Bring strong experience in requirements gathering and business analysis with the ability to convert complex insurance needs into structured functional designs that teams can implement reliably.
- Demonstrate deep hands on exposure to Jira for managing backlogs user stories and functional workflows ensuring traceability from requirements through testing and deployment.
- Offer proven expertise in Guidewire PolicyCenter BillingCenter and ClaimCenter including practical involvement in configuration validation and optimization of policy billing and claims processes.
- Show working knowledge of Guidewire Studio and Guidewire Ins Suite Fundamental features enabling clear guidance to implementation teams on how best to use out of the box capabilities and configuration extensions.
- Provide experience with Guidewire digital portal solutions connecting customer and agent front ends with core systems to support seamless omnichannel insurance interactions.
- Apply strong business analysis and planning skills to design scalable solutions estimate functional effort prioritize requirements and align delivery plans with business outcomes and resource constraints.
- Bring domain understanding in life and annuities insurance that helps refine product rules coverage structures and customer journeys when these areas are in scope for Guidewire projects.
- Operate comfortably in a hybrid work model using collaboration tools and structured communication practices to coordinate with global stakeholders while maintaining productivity and accountability.
- Maintain clear documentation standards and communication skills that support negotiation of requirements conflict resolution and shared understanding across technical and non technical participants.
- Show commitment to continuous learning in Guidewire and insurance industry practices keeping knowledge current so that solutions remain innovative resilient and aligned with evolving customer expectations.
Certifications Required
Guidewire Certified Specialist any module recommended along with Business Analysis certification such as CBAP or CCBA.

The annual salary for this position is between $130,000 - $135,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
