About the role
As a Senior Cypress Automation Engineer, you will make an impact by designing, developing, and executing automated and functional testing solutions for healthcare applications. You will be a valued member of the Quality Engineering team and collaborate with Product Owners, Business Analysts, developers, and client stakeholders to support high-quality releases in a fast-paced Agile environment.
This role requires strong hands-on experience with Cypress automation, API testing, functional testing, and healthcare application testing.
In this role, you will:
Develop, maintain, and execute automated test scripts using Cypress, with a focus on automating regression test cases.
Build reusable automation components, test suites, test cases, and test data to improve testing efficiency and coverage.
Collaborate with Product Owners, Business Analysts, and developers to understand business requirements and translate them into test strategies, test plans, test approaches, and detailed test cases.
Perform functional, regression, API, database, release, and User Acceptance Testing across Agile release cycles.
Validate APIs and web services using Postman, SoapUI, or similar tools, and perform backend data validation using Oracle or Microsoft SQL Server.
Manage defects and prepare test-execution reports, supporting evidence, and release-quality summaries using Jira and qTest.
Coordinate with Product Owners to identify critical business scenarios and support User Acceptance Testing planning and execution.
Participate in Agile ceremonies, including daily Scrum meetings, backlog refinement, sprint planning, and retrospectives.

What you need to have to be considered
6+ years of experience in functional testing, including test planning, test-case development, execution, defect management, and reporting.
Three or more years of hands-on experience developing, maintaining, and executing automated test scripts using Cypress.
Strong experience automating regression test cases and building reusable Cypress automation components, test data, and test suites.
Strong experience in API and service testing using Postman, SoapUI, or comparable tools.
Two or more years of healthcare application testing experience, with sound knowledge of healthcare business processes and terminology.
Experience performing database validation using Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, or similar relational databases.
Experience using Jira and qTest for project tracking, defect management, test-case management, and test reporting.
Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills, including experience working with business and client teams in an Agile delivery environment.
These will help you stand out
Experience with the Karate automation framework.
Knowledge of Tricentis Tosca.
Experience coordinating User Acceptance Testing with Product Owners and business stakeholders.
Experience working in an Agile environment with two-week release cycles.
Ability to clearly communicate testing progress, defects, dependencies, risks, and release readiness to client stakeholders.

Salary and Other Compensation
The annual salary for this position is between $53,477 to $92,500 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
