Job Description

We are looking for an experienced MuleSoft Tech Lead to design, develop, and lead enterprise‑grade integration solutions using MuleSoft’s Anypoint Platform. This individual will play a critical role in delivering scalable, secure, and high‑performance APIs and integrations while providing technical leadership across teams.

Based on this role’s business requirements, this is a hybrid position requiring 4 days a week in a client or Cognizant office in Charlotte, NC. Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain MuleSoft integrations and APIs using API‑led connectivity, delivering scalable, secure, and high‑performance solutions.
  • Plan and execute migration of MuleSoft APIs and integrations to alternate platforms or technology stacks, including refactoring, functional parity validation, risk assessment, and coordinated cutovers with minimal downtime.
  • Build and secure APIs using Anypoint Design Center, Exchange, and API Manager, including RAML/OAS design, policy enforcement, Client ID enforcement, and mutual TLS configuration.
  • Deploy, operate, and monitor Mule applications on CloudHub using Runtime Manager, ensuring proper environment configuration, logging, alerting, and observability.
  • Develop advanced DataWeave 2.x transformations for multi‑level, high‑volume data mappings.
  • Implement CI/CD automation using Azure DevOps Repos and Pipelines.
  • Troubleshoot integration issues using CloudHub logs, Anypoint Monitoring, and diagnostics tools.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to gather requirements and refine integration designs.
  • Lead root‑cause analysis and implement long‑term preventative solutions.
  • Promote engineering excellence through documentation, testing, coding standards, and mentoring.
  • Champion secure and effective use of Generative AI tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot).

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in API development and enterprise integration, with deep MuleSoft expertise (CloudHub, Runtime Fabric, on‑prem runtimes).
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong expertise in API security and compliance within regulated environments.
  • Proven experience with hybrid deployment models, worker sizing, and vCore optimization.
  • Experience with event‑driven architectures and streaming platforms (Kafka or similar).
  • Hands‑on experience with observability and monitoring tools (ELK, AppDynamics, Grafana).
  • Experience with NoSQL and relational databases.
  • Strong Agile and DevSecOps experience with CI/CD pipelines.
  • Hands‑on coding, troubleshooting, and vendor collaboration experience (e.g., FIS, EPP).
  • Strong leadership, mentoring, and stakeholder communication skills.
  • MuleSoft certifications preferred (Developer, Integration Architect, Platform Architect).

Pay Transparency

The annual salary range for this role is $120,500 – $145,000 USD, depending on experience, skills, qualifications, and internal equity.
This position is also eligible for a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, paid time off, holidays, and retirement plans.
