About the role
As a ServiceNow Solution Architect – Service Portal, you will make an impact by designing and delivering scalable, high-performing portal solutions that align with business objectives and user experience best practices. You will be a valued member of the ServiceNow Center of Excellence and work collaboratively with UI/UX specialists, developers, project teams, business stakeholders, and clients to architect innovative digital experiences on the ServiceNow platform.
In this role, you will:
Lead technical design discussions, requirements workshops, and architecture reviews for ServiceNow portal and digital experience solutions.
Define and document solution architectures, integrations, governance models, technical roadmaps, and effort estimates to support successful project delivery.
Translate business requirements, user stories, and design mockups into scalable, secure, and maintainable ServiceNow solutions.
Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and peer reviews for development teams while ensuring adherence to ServiceNow and front-end development best practices.
Serve as the primary technical decision-maker for projects, guiding platform strategy, solution scalability, integration approaches, and long-term supportability.
Support presales activities by providing architectural expertise, solution recommendations, and effort estimations for new opportunities.

What you need to have to be considered
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA) certification.
ServiceNow Certified Application Developer (CAD) certification.
Proven experience architecting and implementing ServiceNow portal, employee experience, or digital experience solutions.
Strong front-end development and/or full-stack development experience, including modern web technologies and responsive design principles.
Experience designing and implementing integrations between ServiceNow and third-party systems.
Strong knowledge of JavaScript, ServiceNow scripting, application development, APIs, web services, and platform architecture.
Experience leading technical workshops, architecture reviews, and solution design sessions with clients and stakeholders.
Ability to define platform governance, technical standards, and implementation best practices.
Excellent communication, leadership, stakeholder management, and mentoring skills.
These will help you stand out
ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist (CIS) certifications, including HR Service Delivery (HRSD) or other product specialties.
Experience with ServiceNow Employee Center, Service Portal, UI Builder, and Next Experience capabilities.
Experience designing mobile-first digital experiences and enterprise-scale user interfaces.
Knowledge of enterprise architecture frameworks and integration patterns.
Experience supporting presales activities, solution estimation, and proposal development.
Proven success mentoring technical teams and driving capability development within a Center of Excellence.
Experience working in Agile delivery environments and leading cross-functional project teams.

The annual salary for this position will be in the range of $114K - $128K depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
