Job Summary
This role focuses on delivering accurate and efficient configuration activities for health care benefits while working fully from home during night shifts. The subject matter expert collaborates with cross functional stakeholders to ensure high quality setup and maintenance using advanced MS Excel skills. The work directly supports dependable benefits administration and contributes to better experiences for members and clients.
Responsibilities
- Perform end to end configuration updates for health care benefit setups by interpreting business rules and translating them into precise system ready parameters using advanced skills on MS Excel to ensure reliable benefits processing and member satisfaction.
- Execute detailed data preparation and validation tasks in MS Excel for configuration templates and reference tables to minimize defects and rework while supporting efficient implementation of new benefits and changes.
- Monitor configuration related work queues and nightly tasks to prioritize items logically align with service level expectations and deliver consistent output during night shift operations.
- Review incoming change requests and requirement documents to identify configuration impacts document clarifications and align with stakeholders to maintain accurate representation of benefits in systems.
- Perform systematic quality checks on configured items using checklists pivot reports and comparison logs in MS Excel to detect discrepancies and support timely corrections before production release.
- Collaborate with implementation analysts testing teams and operations partners through virtual channels to resolve configuration issues share technical insights and support smooth benefit launches for clients.
- Create and maintain structured configuration trackers audit logs and status reports using MS Excel to provide transparent visibility into progress risk items and readiness for deployment.
- Analyze configuration defects and production incidents by tracing data flows reviewing parameter settings and preparing clear root cause notes that support continuous improvement of configuration practices.
- Follow defined configuration standards naming conventions and documentation guidelines to ensure consistency scalability and ease of maintenance across multiple client benefit setups.
- Support test execution by preparing test data in MS Excel reviewing test results and confirming that system behavior aligns with configured benefit rules and member eligibility conditions.
- Contribute to process optimization by suggesting practical improvements for templates validation steps and documentation flows that reduce manual effort while preserving accuracy for remote teams.
- Adhere to compliance and data privacy expectations when handling benefit related information ensuring secure practices in all home based work activities and promoting trust with clients and members.
- Engage in regular skill enhancement on MS Excel formulas functions and reporting features to further strengthen configuration efficiency and enable better support for complex benefit scenarios.
Qualifications
- Demonstrate strong hands on experience in MS Excel including use of formulas lookups pivot tables data validation and error checking applied to configuration or data management activities.
- Apply practical understanding of benefits configuration concepts preferably within health care or employee benefits environments to interpret plan rules and translate them into clear configuration structures.
- Exhibit the ability to work independently in a work from home arrangement during night shifts while maintaining high attention to detail and consistent delivery of configuration assignments.
- Show capability to collaborate remotely with global or cross functional teams using digital communication tools to clarify requirements share status updates and resolve issues without onsite interaction.
- Utilize solid analytical and problem solving skills to investigate configuration variances identify patterns in data and recommend corrective actions that improve reliability of benefit processing.
- Demonstrate familiarity with structured processes documentation and ticketing tools to manage configuration life cycle steps from requirement intake through deployment and post implementation review.
- Display adaptability to evolving benefit designs client needs and configuration standards by quickly learning new guidelines and applying them effectively within the three to six years experience band.
Certifications Required
Preferred certification in MS Excel or data analytics from a recognized training provider such as Microsoft Office Specialist Excel.
