About the role
As a Field Service Engineer, you will make an impact by providing hands-on technical support and ensuring smooth day-to-day IT operations across client locations in Hungary.
You will be a valued member of the IT Infrastructure & Field Services team and work collaboratively with the Service Desk, third-party vendors, and client support teams to provide reliable end-user support.
In this role, you will:
- Perform onsite hands-on troubleshooting and resolution of hardware and software incidents, including user devices, operating systems, peripherals, and network connectivity issues.
- Execute Moves, Adds, Changes & Disposals (MACDs), hardware installations, server/storage reboots, power cycles, and post-deployment validation of service functionality.
- Provide deskside support for end users, including device provisioning, driver issues, hardware fault diagnosis, OS support, and software troubleshooting (e.g., Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Cloud).
- Support audio-visual and video conferencing environments, including endpoints, meeting room panels, telepresence systems, and live events.
- Coordinate with third-party vendors and client support organizations, acting as an onsite escort where required, and managing AV equipment installation projects.
- Configure BIOS, hardware settings, OS settings, system drivers, core applications, encryption, VPN, and access management software in accordance with client policies.
- Implement and deploy end-user device software patches and hardware upgrades in alignment with client corporate compliance policies.
- Decommission end-user equipment from client asset systems and restore work areas to pre-repair condition upon completion of all support activities.
- Support new employee onboarding, provide hot-swap replacement devices, assist with data backups/restores, and obtain end-user sign-off on completed service requests.
- Ensure tickets contain sufficient detail; escalate to team leader or manager when guidance is needed and obtain approval before attending shoulder-tapped tickets.

What you need to have to be considered
- At least 3 years of experience in Field Service Engineering, Deskside Support, Desktop Support, or a similar hands-on IT support role.
- Strong knowledge of end-user hardware, Windows operating systems, peripherals, and common enterprise applications, including Microsoft 365.
- Hands-on experience with device configuration, including BIOS settings, operating system deployment, drivers, VPN, encryption, and software installation.
- Familiarity with ITIL-based service management processes and experience working with ticketing systems.
- Strong communication and customer service skills, with the ability to provide onsite support to both technical and non-technical end users.
These will help you stand out
- Experience supporting audio-visual and video conferencing environments, including meeting rooms and telepresence solutions.
- Knowledge of network troubleshooting and infrastructure support in cooperation with vendor teams.
- Experience providing support to VIP users or delivering white-glove IT support.
- Familiarity with IT asset management, hardware lifecycle, and device decommissioning processes.
- ITIL Foundation certification or equivalent.
