Job Summary

Principal Software Engineer role focused on designing scalable enterprise applications using core Java technologies & STP/Gateways in a hybrid work environment. The role requires deep expertise in Java based architectures mentoring of senior engineers and collaboration with cross functional teams to deliver secure resilient and high performing software solutions that align with strategic business objectives and improve customer outcomes.


Responsibilities

Domain Experience - Platform & gateways

  • Design robust scalable and maintainable enterprise applications using core Java technologies that align with organizational architecture guidelines and long term product strategy.
  • Develop modular application components and reusable libraries in core Java that improve code quality performance and maintainability across multiple product lines.
  • Optimize application performance through careful design of algorithms efficient memory management and tuning of Java virtual machine configurations for production workloads.
  • Review complex code contributions from other engineers to ensure adherence to coding standards security practices and performance expectations while providing constructive feedback.
  • Collaborate with product managers and business stakeholders to translate functional requirements into detailed technical designs and implementation plans using core Java.
  • Coordinate with architects and platform teams to ensure Java based services integrate smoothly with existing systems shared services and data platforms in a hybrid work setting.
  • Implement secure coding practices in core Java including input validation error handling and encryption usage to reduce application security vulnerabilities.
  • Automate unit tests integration tests and regression tests for Java components to improve release quality and support continuous integration and deployment pipelines.
  • Diagnose complex production issues in Java applications by analyzing logs metrics and traces and drive sustainable fixes that prevent recurrence.
  • Mentor experienced engineers by demonstrating advanced Java techniques sharing design patterns and guiding them through code reviews and technical discussions.
  • Document technical designs architectural decisions and operational runbooks for Java services to ensure smooth handover and consistent maintenance by global teams.
  • Partner with quality assurance and operations teams to validate non functional requirements such as reliability observability and performance for Java based solutions in day shift operations.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives by identifying technical debt in Java systems and proposing refactoring or modernization plans that enhance long term system health.


Qualifications

  • Exhibit extensive hands on experience of more than thirteen years in designing and implementing enterprise grade applications using core Java and related frameworks.
  • Demonstrate advanced proficiency in object oriented design design patterns and clean coding practices in Java that result in highly maintainable software.
  • Apply strong knowledge of multithreading concurrency control and asynchronous programming in Java to build responsive and resilient services.
  • Utilize practical experience with build tools dependency management and testing frameworks in the Java ecosystem to streamline development workflows.
  • Show familiarity with cloud ready architectures microservice principles and container based deployment models for Java applications even when travel is not required.
  • Display effective collaboration skills within hybrid teams including clear communication proactive status updates and strong ownership of deliverables.
  • Value continuous learning by staying current with advancements in the Java platform and related open source technologies and applying them thoughtfully to business problems.
