Job Summary
This role is for a Sr R2 Architect with 12 to 14 years of experience who designs and governs end to end solutions using Openshift AWS and Java Linux Azure/OpenShift AWS/1CP/Github for a global enterprise in a hybrid work model. The architect will define scalable secure and cost efficient platforms that support critical business applications while aligning with enterprise standards and enabling sustainable innovation.
Responsibilities
Domain Experience - Air OFFER Air Exchanges
- Design robust cloud native architectures using Openshift AWS and Java that support highly available resilient and scalable enterprise applications
- Develop detailed solution blueprints that describe application integration data flows security controls and deployment strategies for complex business initiatives
- Coordinate with product owners architects and delivery teams to translate business requirements into technically feasible and maintainable solutions that meet performance and reliability goals
- Optimize application and platform performance on Openshift and AWS by defining resource sizing patterns caching strategies and efficient use of managed services
- Define reusable architecture patterns reference implementations and guidelines that promote standardization and reduce time to market for new projects
- Provide technical guidance to engineering teams on best practices for containerization microservices design API usage and platform observability on Openshift and AWS
- Review solution designs code and deployment configurations to ensure adherence to architecture principles security policies compliance needs and operational readiness standards
- Collaborate with security and compliance stakeholders to embed security by design practices including identity management encryption logging and incident response readiness across solutions
- Drive continuous improvement of the hybrid cloud ecosystem by assessing new AWS and Openshift capabilities performing impact analysis and proposing adoption roadmaps that provide clear business value
- Evaluate third party tools frameworks and platform services that complement Java based workloads and provide data driven recommendations for adoption or standardization
- Partner with operations teams to define non functional requirements capacity plans disaster recovery strategies and automation approaches that improve reliability and reduce manual effort
- Document architecture decisions solution diagrams and runbooks in a clear and structured manner so that implementation and support teams can operate services efficiently
- Measure and communicate the impact of architectural decisions on cost performance reliability and sustainability demonstrating how solutions contribute to organizational goals and positive outcomes for customers and society
Qualifications
- Require a strong background of 12 to 14 years in designing and delivering large scale enterprise applications using Java based technologies and related frameworks in complex environments
- Require hands on experience in designing and operating containerized workloads on Openshift including cluster sizing networking storage configuration and platform observability practices
- Require solid expertise with AWS core services for compute storage networking security and monitoring with a demonstrated ability to design secure and scalable architectures on the platform
- Require experience in hybrid or multi cloud environments where workloads span on premises and cloud platforms with a focus on connectivity data consistency and operational resilience
- Require familiarity with modern software engineering practices including continuous integration continuous delivery automated testing and infrastructure as code applied to Java and Openshift workloads
- Require strong skills in analyzing non functional requirements including performance security resilience and cost and translating them into concrete architectural decisions
- Prefer exposure to event driven architectures message based integration patterns and API based integration for complex distributed systems using Java and cloud technologies
- Prefer experience with observability solutions including logging metrics and tracing that help diagnose performance issues and provide transparency into platform health
- Prefer experience working in hybrid work models collaborating across geographically distributed teams using structured communication and documentation practices to maintain alignment
- Prefer prior involvement in architecture review boards technical design reviews or similar governance forums ensuring consistency and compliance across multiple projects
- Prefer familiarity with cost optimization techniques on AWS and container platforms including rightsizing automation and efficient use of managed services to support sustainable operations
- Require strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills to explain complex architectural choices in simple terms and to guide teams toward decisions that benefit both the organization and end users
