About Cognizant Consulting

Cognizant Consulting is more than Cognizant’s consulting practice. We’re a global community of 6,000+ experts dedicated to helping clients reimagine their business. Blending our deep industry and technology advisory capability, we create innovative business solutions for Fortune 500 clients. And now, we’re looking for our next colleague who’ll join us in shaping the future of business. Could it be you?

About the role

As a Manager, Business Analyst / Process Analyst, you will make an impact by analysing, evaluating and optimising business processes, requirements and systems across the insurance value chain. You will help design end-to-end current and future-state processes, translate business needs into clear functional and implementation concepts, and support delivery from requirements analysis through to testing, acceptance and implementation.

You will be a valued member of our Consulting team, working collaboratively with cross-functional stakeholders, technology teams and clients in the insurance sector. This is a full-time role based in Germany, preferably in Munich, with German and English language requirements.

In this role, you will:

  • Analyse, evaluate, optimise, document and model current and future-state business processes, requirements and systems, including maintaining process maps.
  • Translate business requirements into functional concepts, implementation-ready specifications and user stories with clear acceptance criteria.
  • Support agile delivery by working closely with business and technology stakeholders throughout the requirements, development, testing and acceptance lifecycle.
  • Define test case specifications, support end-to-end testing and acceptance activities, and gather client and user feedback to improve solutions.
  • Ensure audit-compliant documentation and archiving of test cases, while contributing to quality standards, complexity reduction and process improvement initiatives.
  • Support the identification and implementation of AI-enabled features and GenAI-supported analysis approaches where relevant.

Work model

We believe hybrid work is the way forward as we strive to provide flexibility wherever possible. Based on this role’s business requirements, this is a hybrid position requiring time in a client or Cognizant office in Munich, Germany. Candidates who are not local to Munich should be willing to travel to Munich up to 25% of the time. Regardless of your working arrangement, we are here to support a healthy work-life balance through our various wellbeing programmes.

The working arrangements for this role are accurate as of the date of posting. This may change based on the project you’re engaged in, as well as business and client requirements. Rest assured, we will always be clear about role expectations.

What you must have to be considered

  • Strong experience as a Business Analyst, Process Analyst or similar role, with a focus on business process analysis, requirements gathering and solution design.
  • Domain expertise in the insurance industry, ideally in at least one of the following areas: property and casualty, motor, health, life insurance or sales/distribution systems.
  • Experience developing effective and efficient solution concepts based on business and user requirements.
  • Solid understanding of agile principles and experience working in agile delivery environments, including user story creation and acceptance criteria definition.
  • Strong communication, facilitation and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively across interdisciplinary teams.
  • Fluency in German and English.

These will help you succeed

  • Foundational understanding of IT architecture, including interfaces, data flows, APIs, databases and SQL.
  • Basic knowledge of programming languages and software development processes.
  • Experience in technical problem management and defect management.
  • Confident use of collaboration and project management tools such as Jira, Confluence and Miro.
  • Initial experience using AI, GenAI or AI-supported analysis tools in a business or delivery context.
