Job Summary
This hybrid role is for a Functional Lead in SAP Materials Management with a focus on direct and indirect procurement special procurements and inventory management across consumer goods and broader supply chain domains. The professional will design optimize and support SAP MM processes ensuring reliable day operations strong stakeholder collaboration and measurable value for global business teams.
Responsibilities
- Drive end to end SAP MM design and configuration for direct procurement scenarios to ensure timely and accurate material availability for production and customer demand fulfillment.
- Coordinate special procurement processes within SAP MM to optimize stock transfer subcontracting and consignment flows that reduce supply risk and improve cost effectiveness.
- Manage indirect procurement configurations in SAP to streamline purchasing of services and non production materials that support efficient internal operations.
- Optimize SAP purchasing processes including purchase requisitions purchase orders and approvals to improve compliance cycle times and supplier collaboration.
- Administer inventory management functions in SAP including goods movements stock adjustments and reservations to maintain accurate stock levels and audit ready records.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather detailed requirements and translate them into SAP MM solutions that align with supply chain and consumer goods strategies.
- Coordinate integration of SAP MM with related modules such as SD PP and FI to enable seamless end to end process execution and data consistency.
- Conduct system testing including unit testing and integration testing for SAP MM changes to ensure reliable performance and minimal disruption to business operations.
- Prepare functional specifications for enhancements and work closely with technical teams to implement robust solutions that address complex procurement and inventory scenarios.
- Provide guidance and support to end users through issue resolution training sessions and clear process documentation that enable confident and compliant system usage.
- Analyze procurement and inventory data in SAP to identify process bottlenecks and recommend improvements that enhance working capital efficiency and service levels.
- Support hybrid work model collaboration by using digital tools and structured communication practices that keep project stakeholders aligned across locations.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that leverage SAP MM capabilities to reduce waste improve sustainability and strengthen societal impact through resilient supply chains.
Qualifications
- Demonstrate eight to twelve years of experience in SAP MM with strong exposure to direct procurement indirect procurement and special procurements within complex business environments.
- Apply deep hands on knowledge of SAP inventory management including goods receipts issue processes transfer postings and physical inventory to maintain accurate stock visibility.
- Utilize solid expertise in SAP purchasing including source determination pricing procedures and release strategies to configure efficient and compliant procurement workflows.
- Bring practical experience in SAP MM implementation or support projects for supply chain intensive industries with preference for consumer goods focused organizations.
- Exhibit understanding of supply chain management concepts such as demand planning replenishment and distribution that complement SAP MM configuration work.
- Leverage experience in supply chain consumer goods to align SAP MM solutions with trade promotions high volume distribution and fast moving product portfolios.
Certifications Required
SAP Certified Application Associate in SAP S 4HANA Sourcing and Procurement or equivalent SAP MM certification
