About the role
We are seeking a Senior Mobile Design Systems Engineer with strong experience in React Native and mobile component development to help build and evolve a scalable mobile design system. In this role, you will collaborate with designers, accessibility specialists, and engineers to deliver reusable, accessible, and high-quality components that create consistent user experiences across products.
In this role, you will
- Develop and maintain reusable mobile components aligned with design system standards and roadmaps.
- Collaborate with UX designers, accessibility specialists, and engineers to ensure design and code consistency.
- Translate Figma designs into scalable, production-ready mobile components.
- Build component documentation, implementation guidelines, and automated tests to ensure quality and reliability.
- Drive adoption of shared components while contributing to the evolution of the mobile design system and developer experience.
Work model

Based on this role’s business requirements, this is a hybrid position requiring 4 days a week in a client or Cognizant office in Toronto, Ontario. What you need to have to be considered
- 5+ years of experience in mobile application development.
- Strong experience with React Native and/or native mobile development for iOS and Android.
- Experience building reusable component libraries, design systems, or shared UI frameworks.
- Strong understanding of component-based architecture, state management, and mobile UI development best practices.
- Experience implementing accessibility standards and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
These will help you stand out
- Experience working with enterprise-scale design systems and shared component ecosystems.
- Familiarity with Figma, design tokens, and design-to-development workflows.
- Knowledge of WCAG accessibility standards and inclusive design principles.
- Experience supporting multiple product teams through adoption of shared component libraries.
- Experience improving developer experience through automation, documentation, and component governance.

Total compensation
We regularly assess market data to ensure we offer a competitive compensation package for our associates. The base salary for this position ranges between $81,500 – 95,500 per year. Where the successful candidate may fall within the range depends on relevant education, work and/or management experience and other business-related and job-necessary qualifications. This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual performance-based bonus, as well as benefits that support your physical, mental and financial wellbeing.
