Job Summary
This hybrid day shift role is for a technical lead with seven to eleven years of experience who will guide design and delivery of media and entertainment platforms using ruby on rails microservices python and shell scripting while ensuring robust performance secure data handling and seamless user experiences that support global content distribution and sustained business growth.
Responsibilities
- Lead end to end design and implementation of scalable media and entertainment platforms using ruby on rails microservices python and shell scripting to deliver reliable high performance content services that support the company digital strategy
- Oversee translation of complex business requirements from media and entertainment stakeholders into clear technical solutions and implementation plans that improve audience engagement and content monetization
- Provide technical direction for modular microservices based architectures that support streaming asset management recommendation engines and analytics while ensuring flexibility for future feature expansion
- Drive code quality by defining standards conducting detailed reviews and mentoring engineers in testable maintainable ruby on rails python and shell scripting practices that reduce defects and rework
- Coordinate hybrid work model collaboration across onsite and remote team members ensuring smooth communication clear ownership and timely progress updates for ongoing releases and enhancements
- Guide integration of third party media services content delivery platforms and data providers into core systems using secure and efficient interfaces that protect content integrity and user privacy
- Collaborate with product and operations teams to refine roadmaps prioritize backlogs and plan iterations that balance technical debt reduction with delivery of new audience facing capabilities
- Optimize application and service performance through profiling tuning caching strategies and resource management tailored to high traffic media and entertainment workloads
- Ensure robust observability by defining logging metrics and alerting strategies that enable rapid detection analysis and resolution of incidents across distributed services
- Champion secure development practices including proper authentication authorization data protection and regulatory compliance relevant to digital media distribution
- Coordinate deployment pipelines and release processes for hybrid environments by working closely with infrastructure and site reliability teams to maintain stable and predictable rollouts
- Support troubleshooting of complex production issues by leading root cause analysis and driving long term corrective actions that strengthen resilience of critical content services
- Contribute to continuous improvement by evaluating new tools frameworks and patterns in ruby on rails microservices python and shell scripting and guiding selective adoption that aligns with business value
Qualifications
- Demonstrate deep hands on expertise in ruby on rails development for high volume user facing applications including experience with controllers models background jobs and integration with data stores
- Possess proven proficiency in designing and implementing microservices architectures including service decomposition inter service communication and patterns that support scalability and fault isolation
- Apply strong python programming capability for backend services automation data processing or content related workflows with emphasis on clean code structure and efficient execution
- Utilize shell scripting skills to automate deployment monitoring housekeeping and other operational tasks that streamline day to day management of media systems
- Bring solid working experience in media and entertainment domains including familiarity with content workflows metadata management rights considerations and audience experience expectations
- Exhibit ability to operate effectively in a hybrid work environment using structured communication practices tools and rituals that keep teams aligned and productive across locations
- Show aptitude for leading technical discussions estimation and planning while maintaining focus on delivery timelines code health and measurable outcomes for business partners
- Demonstrate strong debugging and problem solving skills across distributed systems including the capability to interpret logs metrics and traces and convert findings into actionable fixes
- Maintain familiarity with relational and non relational data stores commonly used with ruby on rails and microservices and apply appropriate modeling and querying techniques for media workloads
- Possess solid understanding of application security performance optimization and reliability principles and apply them consistently throughout the software development lifecycle
- Communicate clearly with diverse technical and non technical partners by explaining design choices tradeoffs and implementation plans in concise and understandable terms
- Display commitment to mentoring and knowledge sharing through pair programming design sessions and documentation that raise overall engineering maturity and capability within the team
