About the role
As a Senior C/C++ Lead, you will make an impact by supporting and enhancing a high-performance, real-time transaction processing platform that enables enterprise-scale message routing, translation, reconciliation, and processing. You will be a valued member of the engineering team, collaborating with architects, developers, DevOps engineers, and business stakeholders to deliver scalable, resilient, and high-throughput solutions.

In this role, you will:
Design, develop, and support mission-critical C/C++ applications running on Linux in a 24x7 production environment.
Build and enhance CI/CD pipelines and automation frameworks that improve application reliability, scalability, and deployment efficiency.
Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve complex application issues while driving defect isolation and reproducibility.
Develop tools, infrastructure, and testing frameworks to validate large-scale distributed systems and improve engineering productivity.
Provide technical leadership, mentor team members, and help ensure adherence to engineering and architectural standards.

What you need to have to be considered
Strong experience developing and supporting applications using C in Linux-based environments.
Experience with C++ development and object-oriented design principles.
Hands-on experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
Experience supporting high availability, distributed, real-time transaction processing systems.
Strong troubleshooting, debugging, and performance optimization skills in complex production environments.
Experience with system testing, automation, and distributed systems infrastructure.
Ability to lead technical initiatives, mentor team members, and collaborate across multiple teams.
These will help you stand out
Experience with Prolog development.
Exposure to financial services, transaction processing, or messaging platforms.
Experience with high-throughput, low-latency systems.
Knowledge of performance tuning, scalability engineering, and observability tools.
Experience designing frameworks or tooling that improve engineering productivity and deployment velocity.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

Salary and Other Compensation:
The annual salary for this position is between $65,447 to $117,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
