About the role
We are seeking a highly skilled and hands-on Senior Engineering Lead with expertise in .NET Core, AWS, Web APIs, and Generative AI to drive technical excellence across enterprise software initiatives. In this role, you will partner closely with customers and global delivery teams, provide technical leadership for a team of approximately 35 engineers, and leverage modern engineering practices and AI technologies to accelerate innovation, quality, and delivery outcomes.
In this role, you will:
- Lead the technical delivery of enterprise applications while collaborating with customers, business stakeholders, and global engineering teams.
- Design, develop, and review scalable solutions using .NET Core, AWS, Web APIs, and Generative AI technologies.
- Provide technical leadership through architecture guidance, code reviews, mentoring, and engineering best practices.
- Drive adoption of AI-enabled engineering practices, including prompt and context engineering, to improve productivity and delivery velocity.
- Manage GitHub-based development workflows and support troubleshooting, solution design, and delivery execution.

What you need to have to be considered:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Strong hands-on experience with .NET Core, AWS, RESTful Web APIs, and modern software engineering practices.
- Experience with Generative AI technologies, including Claude, prompt engineering, and context engineering.
- Proven ability to lead technical discussions, mentor engineers, and collaborate effectively with customers and cross-functional teams.
- Strong experience with GitHub workflows, code reviews, version control, branching strategies, and troubleshooting complex technical issues.
These will help you stand out:
- Experience leading large engineering teams and delivering complex enterprise software programs.
- Hands-on experience leveraging AI-assisted development tools to improve engineering productivity and quality.
- Knowledge of cloud-native architectures, microservices, and application modernization initiatives.
- AWS certifications or other relevant cloud engineering credentials.
- Experience driving engineering governance, coding standards, and technical transformation programs.

Salary and compensation:
The annual salary for this position will be between $119000 to $139,500 per year depending on the experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate. This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program and stock awards, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
