About the role
As a GenAI Automation Architect – AI-Driven Quality Engineering Transformation, you will make an impact by leading the adoption of Generative AI and Agentic AI solutions across the Quality Engineering lifecycle, accelerating automation, improving quality outcomes, and driving enterprise-wide testing transformation. You will be a valued member of the Quality Engineering organization and work collaboratively with architects, engineering teams, product owners, data scientists, AI specialists, and business stakeholders to deliver innovative AI-powered quality solutions.
In this role, you will:
• Lead the transformation of Quality Engineering practices through the adoption of GenAI-powered automation, agentic workflows, and AI-assisted testing solutions.
• Design and implement intelligent AI agents for test case generation, automation development, defect analysis, self-healing frameworks, and legacy automation modernization.
• Architect enterprise-scale GenAI and Agentic AI solutions leveraging leading AI platforms, orchestration frameworks, and automation technologies.
• Define and execute the AI-driven Quality Engineering roadmap, governance strategy, responsible AI practices, and value realization metrics.
• Mentor engineering and QA teams while fostering an AI-first culture focused on innovation, continuous learning, and delivery excellence.
Work Model

Based on this role’s business requirements, this is a hybrid position requiring 4 days a week in a client or Cognizant office in Charlotte, NC. What you need to have to be considered
• 16+ years of experience in Quality Engineering, Test Architecture, Test Automation, and enterprise-scale quality transformation programs.
• Hands-on expertise in Generative AI and Agentic AI, including Prompt Engineering, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), AI-powered test automation, intelligent test design, defect prediction, and root cause analysis.
• Strong proficiency in Python, Java, Selenium, Playwright, API Automation, and the design of scalable, reusable test automation frameworks.
• Deep knowledge of modern AI ecosystems including Azure OpenAI, AWS Bedrock, LangChain, LangGraph, GitHub Copilot, Anthropic Claude, and AI orchestration frameworks.
• Proven experience defining Quality Engineering strategies, automation roadmaps, governance frameworks, and leading globally distributed engineering teams while delivering measurable business outcomes.
These will help you stand out
• Experience building agentic AI solutions using Semantic Kernel, MCP, AI Skills, multi-agent architectures, and autonomous workflow frameworks.
• Expertise implementing AI-assisted software development and testing practices across the SDLC.
• Experience evaluating and integrating emerging AI technologies into enterprise engineering ecosystems.
• Strong understanding of AI governance, security, compliance, model lifecycle management, and responsible AI principles.
• Demonstrated success driving innovation initiatives, Proofs of Concept (PoCs), and AI transformation programs that improve productivity, quality, and operational efficiency.
