The Opportunity
Cognizant's Life Sciences Manufacturing Industry Solutions Group (LSM ISG) leads digital transformation across manufacturing IT, OT and Quality Control labs within the Life Sciences sector, helping clients strengthen operational efficiency while maintaining regulatory compliance. Guiding clients through Pharma 4.0, the practice brings together deep expertise across IT, OT, IoT, infrastructure and services, delivering end-to-end capability spanning consulting, systems integration, process automation, data infrastructure and intelligence, manufacturing operations management (MOM/MES), quality control lab informatics, and Smart Manufacturing.
ASEAN is one of Cognizant's strategic growth markets, and LSM ISG is looking for a highly accomplished, results-driven Service Line Specialist (SLS) to originate, advance and close sales opportunities across the region. Reporting to the LSM ISG GGM Head of Business Development, this Senior Manager-level role will work closely with Cognizant's industry community — Client Partners and Client Relationship Managers (CRMs) — and the Singapore Market Commercial Unit (MCU) leadership to drive sales and business development in a high-growth environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Sales & Pipeline Growth: Drive sales and pipeline growth for an assigned portfolio of accounts and the broader Singapore market, building strong internal relationships with Singapore MCU leadership, LSM ISG delivery heads and other core stakeholders.
• Closing Sales: Own the growth of Cognizant's Life Sciences Manufacturing business within the Singapore market, winning new deals against pre-agreed targets.
• Sales Plan Creation: Develop and execute a growth plan for the Life Sciences Manufacturing domain within the region.
• Forecasting: Partner closely with delivery and operations teams to maintain forecast accuracy and consistency across the assigned account portfolio.
• Pipeline Management: Build and manage the opportunity pipeline, qualifying high-priority deals and closing new business in line with agreed targets, with disciplined pipeline tracking and management on Cognizant's CRM platform.
• Demand Generation: Partner with Singapore MCU teams to identify prospects, shape marketing plans and initiate new client conversations.
• Proposal & Pricing Development: Translate customer needs into winning proposals in partnership with presales, solutioning and business development teams, developing deal structures and pricing as part of a winning sales pursuit in close collaboration with BU and ISG FP&A teams.
• Client Relationship Building: Build and deepen relationships across senior client stakeholders, developing executive-level relationships across the account base.
• Solution & Content Leadership: Bring hands-on ownership to solution and content development in response to client requests and RFx, applying deep understanding of Manufacturing IT/OT technologies to engage customers through deal, solution and transformation-shaping discussions.
• Market & Industry Engagement: Stay ahead of industry trends, emerging technologies and market dynamics within Life Sciences manufacturing to identify growth opportunities, and engage analysts to build and reinforce Cognizant's market credentials.
• Travel: Undertake regular travel within the Singapore market, with frequency varying according to customer and prospect requirements.
Performance Measures
Success in the role is measured against a clear set of outcomes:
• New-business bookings and TCV closed within the Life Sciences Manufacturing portfolio, measured against agreed targets.
• Pipeline growth and qualified opportunity coverage relative to targets, tracked through Cognizant's CRM platform.
• Forecast accuracy and consistency across the assigned account base.
• Quality and win rate of proposals developed in partnership with presales and solutioning teams.
• Depth and breadth of executive-level client relationships developed across the portfolio.
• Contribution to Cognizant's market credentials and analyst positioning within the Life Sciences Manufacturing domain.
Candidate Profile
This is a specialist, domain-led sales role — not a generalist account-management position. The following are essential:
• 8–10+ years of experience in Life Sciences Manufacturing IT or OT sales and business development — direct domain sales experience is required and distinct from general Life Sciences commercial roles, program management, account management, or non-IT sales backgrounds.
• Well-connected within the local Life Sciences community in Singapore, with established relationships with Senior Director- and VP-level executives responsible for IT, OT/engineering and site operations.
• Experience within Manufacturing IT/OT systems integration or consulting businesses; lab informatics experience an added advantage.
• Demonstrated ability to understand manufacturing business-process challenges within the Life Sciences industry and translate client needs into compelling, value-focused solutions.
• Hands-on experience developing solution and content in response to client requests or RFx.
• Excellent verbal communication and public-speaking skills, with the ability to convey complex, detailed deal elements in a compelling, engaging and easy-to-understand manner.
• Strong written communication skills, including the ability to build compelling sales narratives and executive-level PowerPoint decks.
• Proven ability to proactively grow customer relationships within an account while expanding understanding of the customer's business.
• Ability to thrive independently in a fast-paced, client-focused, constantly evolving environment.
• Relationships or experience working with OT technology providers such as Emerson, Körber, Siemens, Rockwell, AspenTech or Tulip an added advantage.
• Certifications preferred, not required.
Preferred: Engineering degree in a related field; MBA preferred.
