Service Manager (C++)
About the role
As a Service Manager, C++ Applications, you will make an impact by leading end-to-end service delivery for business-critical software products supporting independent software vendor and high-tech clients. You will be a valued member of the service delivery team and work collaboratively with engineering, product, operations, and business stakeholders to maintain reliable services, resolve complex production issues, and improve customer experience.

In this role, you will:
Lead end-to-end service delivery for C++-based applications, overseeing incident management, request fulfillment, problem management, and change management while maintaining agreed service levels and customer satisfaction.
Direct the daily operations of hybrid service teams by monitoring support queues, coordinating resources, managing escalations, and ensuring the timely resolution of complex technical issues.
Drive service reliability and continuous improvement by analyzing recurring problems, facilitating root cause analysis, and partnering with engineering and product teams to implement permanent corrective actions.
Manage service governance and stakeholder communication by reviewing performance metrics, identifying risks, presenting service insights, and providing clear updates on incidents, maintenance activities, releases, and improvement initiatives.
Coordinate production releases and operational readiness by validating deployment plans, maintaining standard operating procedures, enforcing security and change-control practices, and confirming service stability following implementation.

What you need to have to be considered
Eight to ten years of professional experience in service delivery, application support, or production service management, including ownership of complex software environments.
Strong hands-on experience developing, maintaining, troubleshooting, or supporting applications built with C++.
Solid knowledge of IT service management practices, including incident, problem, change, request, and release management.
Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional or geographically distributed teams and managing relationships with technical and nontechnical stakeholders.
Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills, with experience interpreting service metrics, managing competing priorities, and communicating operational risks and outcomes.
These will help you stand out
Experience supporting independent software vendors, high-tech organizations, or product-based technology environments.
Familiarity with Agile or iterative delivery models and frequent software release cycles.
Experience coordinating production deployments and validating operational readiness.
Knowledge of security, access management, change control, and data-protection practices.
Experience using service-management platforms, monitoring tools, dashboards, and online collaboration solutions in a hybrid operating model.

Salary and Other Compensation: The annual salary for this position is between $ 63,000 to $ 99,500 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
