Job Summary

Technical Lead role in a global organization focusing on advanced bioinformatics solutions powered by AWS services and Python. The position involves designing and delivering scalable data pipelines analytical workflows and applications to support scientific research and healthcare innovations. The role is hybrid with day shift targeting experienced professionals who can bridge cloud engineering and bioinformatics expertise to create impactful outcomes for society.


Responsibilities

  • Design and implement scalable cloud based data pipelines on AWS that efficiently process complex bioinformatics datasets to support research and clinical decision workflows
  • Develop robust Python applications and scripts that enable advanced sequence analysis and data transformation while ensuring code quality and maintainability
  • Optimize storage and retrieval of genomic and proteomic data using AWS services to deliver reliable performance for data intensive experiments
  • Collaborate with cross functional scientific and engineering teams to translate bioinformatics requirements into precise technical designs and implementation plans
  • Guide end to end solution architecture for hybrid work environments ensuring secure access to AWS resources and seamless integration with on premise data systems
  • Ensure adherence to best practices for security compliance and governance across AWS environments to protect sensitive biomedical and health related information
  • Monitor system performance and reliability for deployed bioinformatics workflows and proactively implement improvements to reduce processing time and resource usage
  • Coordinate day to day task planning and technical guidance for team members focusing on high impact features that advance company research and product goals
  • Document system designs data models and workflow specifications in a clear manner so that scientific stakeholders and engineers share a common understanding
  • Engage in continuous improvement of existing Python codebases and AWS configurations by refactoring components and adopting modern tooling and automation
  • Support validation and quality assurance activities for bioinformatics analyses by implementing reproducible pipelines and thorough logging within AWS environments
  • Communicate progress risks and technical decisions to stakeholders using concise updates that emphasize outcomes for patient care and scientific discovery
  • Contribute to innovation initiatives by exploring new AWS capabilities and Python libraries that can enhance bioinformatics insights and societal impact


Qualifications

  • Demonstrate strong hands on experience with core AWS services such as compute storage networking and data platform components applied to complex analytical workloads
  • Show advanced proficiency with Python including data processing libraries testing frameworks and packaging practices relevant to bioinformatics pipelines
  • Exhibit practical experience in bioinformatics including handling high throughput sequencing data annotation workflows and biological database integration
  • Understand hybrid work models and day shift collaboration patterns and apply effective communication and coordination techniques for distributed technical teams
  • Apply sound software engineering practices including version control continuous integration automated testing and documentation in production bioinformatics systems
  • Display familiarity with cloud cost optimization techniques and performance tuning strategies to ensure efficient use of AWS resources in research environments
  • Utilize knowledge of data privacy and regulatory expectations in biomedical contexts to design solutions that safeguard sensitive information and maintain trust
