Java FSE Lead (Angular)
About the role
As a Full Stack Java Lead, you will make an impact by designing, developing, and supporting scalable cloud-native applications that power critical business capabilities. You will be a valued member of the engineering team and work collaboratively with architects, product owners, DevOps engineers, and cross-functional stakeholders to deliver innovative, secure, and high-performing solutions.

In this role, you will:
- Design, develop, and maintain full stack applications using Java, Spring Boot, Angular, and modern microservices architectures.
- Build and support event-driven solutions using Kafka and real-time streaming technologies to enable scalable and reliable data processing.
- Develop and deploy cloud-ready applications utilizing Infrastructure as Code (IaC), CI/CD pipelines, and automation best practices.
- Create and integrate REST APIs and GraphQL services that support enterprise-grade applications and digital experiences.
- Leverage AI-assisted engineering tools, including GitHub Copilot or similar technologies, to improve development productivity, automation, testing, debugging, and code quality.

Based on this role's business requirements, this is a hybrid position requiring 3 days per week in a client or Cognizant office in Minneapolis, Minnesota. What you need to have to be considered
- 5+ years of experience developing enterprise applications using Java and Spring Boot.
- Strong full stack development experience with Angular and modern web application architectures.
- Experience designing and implementing microservices-based solutions and distributed systems.
- Hands-on experience with Kafka or similar event streaming technologies.
- Strong knowledge of REST APIs, GraphQL, and service integration patterns.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD pipelines, GitHub, and DevOps practices.
- Proficiency with relational and NoSQL databases, including MySQL, MongoDB Atlas, and other database technologies.
- Experience utilizing AI-powered developer tools such as GitHub Copilot to enhance engineering workflows.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
These will help you stand out
- Experience building cloud-native applications on AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
- Knowledge of application monitoring and observability tools such as Grafana, Splunk, and related platforms.
- Experience with deployment automation, infrastructure provisioning, and platform engineering.
- Familiarity with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience driving engineering best practices, code quality initiatives, and continuous improvement programs.

Salary and Other Compensation: The annual salary for this position is between $ 75,000 to $ 135,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
