Location: Dayton, Ohio Onsite, 5 times a week from client site.
Cognizant is looking for a dynamic Infra Lifecycle Specialist to support critical business processes by ensuring technology is prepared to recover from the unexpected. You will be responsible for assessing disaster readiness and overall application resiliency based on critical risks.

In this role, you will:
- Build/configure of physical or virtual Servers and Workstations, coordinate with the plant points of contacts, external vendors and application team to plan and schedule the replacement activities
- Travel to the site during the cutover window for the physical hardware replacements and disposal of the old assets.
The job may involve some heavy lifting primarily during racking and stacking of Nutanix and any physical devices such as servers, Storage units etc.
- The candidate is required to Install and connect network cables, power cables, and management interfaces during these activities
- Experience with Infra Support activities like installation and uninstallation of Software on Windows 10/11 and Server Platform.
Handle diagnosis of complex issues, experience in administering and troubleshooting the provisioned Infrastructure on Plant Segmented networks.
Ability to configure Windows Operating system including security settings. Ability to configure network settings including IP addressing, DNS, and domain integration.
What you’ll need to succeed (required skills):
8+ Years of solid hands on experience on Microsoft Windows Systems Administration with Microsoft Windows 10, Windows 11, Windows Server 2016, 2019 and 2022.
- Knowledge of Build and deployment of Physical and virtual Workstations and servers for engineering, Plant Control and or End User Computing Environment.
- The candidate should have the knowledge to Provision resources such as CPU, memory, storage, and networking for virtual machines.
- Knowledge on fundamentals of VMware, vSphere, vCenter, ESXI cluster administration
- Experience on racking and stacking of ESXI Hosts and configuration of ESXI and SAN Storage in a data center or a Manufacturing Plant Environment
- Extensive knowledge on fundamentals of Nutanix, deployment, installation, and configuration of Nutanix infrastructure, including rack and stack of hardware and migration of virtual servers from legacy platforms to Nutanix AHV
- Must have experience working in a Manufacturing Plant Environment or working on a datacenter environment
- The job requires up to 15% travel to other sites (Manufacturing Plants) across US as and when needed. There may be requirements for overnight stay and air travel. All travel expenses will be fully reimbursed as per Cognizant policy
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
