QA Automation lead with UI and Playwright
Location: Atlanta, GA. (Onsite)
Responsibilities:
· Own and drive the overall QA automation strategy for the new UI-based ISO Portal application across sprint and release cycles.
· Define automation roadmap, framework standards, coding guidelines, reusable components, and governance model using Playwright based on automation feasibility and project needs.
· Collaborate with Product Owners, Business Analysts, Architects, Development Leads, and QA stakeholders to understand business requirements, acceptance criteria, and quality objectives.
· Identify automation scope by evaluating functional test cases for feasibility, priority, stability, business criticality, and regression value.
· Oversee design and implementation of scalable, maintainable, and reusable automation frameworks supporting UI, functional, smoke, regression, and release validation.
· Ensure automation scripts are integrated with CI/CD pipelines for scheduled, on-demand, and release-based execution.
· Define quality gates for pipeline execution, including test pass thresholds, defect leakage tracking, regression health, and automation execution reporting.
· Monitor automation progress, script coverage, execution trends, defect trends, and overall quality metrics; publish regular QA and automation status reports to GPC and Cognizant stakeholders.
Required Qualifications:
· 8+ years of QA/Quality Engineering experience, including leadership in UI test automation.
· Strong expertise in Playwright (TypeScript/JavaScript)
· Experience designing and maintaining scalable, reusable automation frameworks.
· Hands-on experience integrating automation suites with CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, etc.).
· Exposure to API automation, SQL/database validation, and AI-assisted testing practices.
· Proven ability to define automation strategy, governance, quality gates, and test coverage models.
· Strong stakeholder management and communication skills across business and technology teams.
· Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments with sprint-based delivery.
· Strong analytical skills with expertise in automation metrics, reporting, and quality dashboards.
Salary and Other Compensation:

The annual salary for this position is between $ 90,000– $ 110,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
