About the role
As a Domain Consultant – RCGTH, you will make an impact by shaping compelling, insight-led client propositions across Retail, Consumer Goods, Travel, and Hospitality, translating client priorities into differentiated solution narratives, business cases, proposals, and thought leadership. You will be a valued member of the Business Development team and work collaboratively with sales, pre-sales, consulting, solutioning, solution architects, practice leaders, account teams, delivery teams, alliance partners, and clients.
In this role, you will
- Act as a domain strategist and trusted advisor to sales, business development, consulting, and solutioning teams, researching and synthesizing industry trends, client priorities, market shifts, competitor activity, and emerging technologies across the RCGTH portfolio.
- Translate client business needs into domain-led solution themes, capability maps, value propositions, transformation roadmaps, and proposal narratives.
- Support opportunity qualification and pursuits by developing compelling content for proposals, RFP responses, pitch decks, executive presentations, solution storyboards, battle cards, and account-specific point-of-view documents.
- Shape differentiated go-to-market narratives and build reusable RCGTH assets such as industry trend summaries, value maps, use-case libraries, case studies, reference architectures, and competitive positioning materials.
- Contribute to practice development through thought leadership, market intelligence, and offering development, and mentor junior business development and pre-sales associates.
Work model

Based on this role's business requirements, this is a hybrid position requiring 3 days a week in a client or Cognizant office in Mumbai. What you must have to be considered
- 10-15+ years of experience in domain consulting, business development, pre-sales, industry advisory, digital transformation, or solution consulting, with a Bachelor's degree in Business, Technology, Engineering, Information Systems, Marketing, or a related discipline.
- Strong understanding of Retail, Consumer Goods, Travel, and Hospitality business models, value chains, customer journeys, operating models, and industry-specific priorities.
- Proven experience developing proposals, solution narratives, executive presentations, market research outputs, thought leadership, business cases, or go-to-market assets.
- Familiarity with key RCGTH transformation themes and relevant enterprise platforms and technology ecosystems, including CRM, commerce, contact center, data and analytics, AI/GenAI, marketing technology, order management, ERP, and digital experience platforms.
- Demonstrated ability to convert ambiguous client needs into structured problem statements, value propositions, and outcome-oriented recommendations while collaborating across cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, matrixed environment.
These will help you succeed
- An MBA or equivalent consulting experience.
- Familiarity with CRM and customer engagement technologies such as Salesforce (Sales, Service, Marketing, Experience, Data, and Commerce Cloud, and Agentforce), Microsoft Dynamics 365, SAP Customer Experience, Adobe Experience Cloud, and ServiceNow Customer Service Management.
- Awareness of emerging themes such as hyper-personalization, omnichannel experience, connected loyalty, intelligent fulfillment, sustainable operations, AI-enabled workforce, and unified customer intelligence.
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to articulate business value, support ROI narratives, and align proposed solutions to client priorities.
- Excellent research, synthesis, writing, communication, and presentation skills, with confidence engaging senior sales, account, consulting, and client stakeholders.
