About the role
As a Senior Finance Analyst, you will play a key role in supporting financial operations across Cognizant’s Eastern European entities. You will be responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, supporting compliance requirements, and collaborating with stakeholders across multiple countries.
In this role, you will:
• Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes
• Prepare journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and accruals
• Perform P&L and balance sheet variance analysis with clear commentary
• Support statutory reporting and compliance (financial statements, VAT/CIT returns, local regulatory reporting)
• Investigate accounting discrepancies and resolve issues with internal and external stakeholders
• Partner with Finance Managers and shared services teams across the region
Location & Working Model
Location: Budapest, Hungary
Working model: Hybrid (2–3 days per week in office)
What you need to have
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 2+ years of experience in accounting / R2R / general ledger
• Strong Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP)
• Solid understanding of financial processes and reporting cycles
• Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
Nice to have
• Knowledge of IFRS or US GAAP
• Experience in multinational / SSC / BPO environments
• Familiarity with VAT, CIT, and WHT
• Experience with Oracle, PeopleSoft, or Hyperion
• Additional European language skills (Polish or Czech preferred)
