About the role
As a Record to Report Accountant and Analyst you will make an impact by being responsible for the accounting / finance activities of the entities belonging to Cognizant’s interest in Eastern Europe. You will be a valued member of the Finance team and work collaboratively with local teams and internal / external stakeholders
In this role, you will:
· Support the local Finance Managers as per below
· Be responsible for activities related to monthly, quarterly closing and management reporting: prepare journals and BS reconciliations, review accrual calculations, analyze the bookings, provide comments for P&L and BS variance analysis
· Support local compliance: prepare and submit local statistical reports (to government, National Bank), support the preparation of the financial statement and CIT return, support the audits
· Have operational duties: investigate booking mismatches, initiate manual payments, working with different internal and external teams, service providers, etc

Based on this role’s business requirements, this is a hybrid position requiring 2/3 days a week in our Cognizant office in Budapest. What you need to have to be considered
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting / Finance or CPA qualification
At least 2 years work experience in accounting / financial environment (bookkeeping)
Experienced excel user (pivot tables, v-lookup, etc)
Good team player but able to work independently
Open to learn new things, can-do attitude
Committed to provide quality work and keep deadlines
Control mindset, attention to details
These will help you stand out
Knowledge of IFRS / US-GAAP accounting practices and principles
Experience working in a multinational / SSC environment
VAT, CIT, WHT (withholding tax) expertise
Experience with Oracle (People Soft) / Hyperion
Polish or Czech language skills
