Technical/ Integration Consultant-Banking Domain
Job Summary
Cognizant is seeking a highly skilled and client-focused Technical Consultant to join our ISG practice. In this role, you will act as a trusted technical advisor, partnering with clients to understand business objectives, assess current technology landscapes, and design innovative solutions that drive business transformation.
You will work closely with business and technical stakeholders to gather requirements, evaluate existing systems, recommend improvements, and oversee the successful implementation of technology solutions. This position requires strong consulting capabilities, technical expertise, project delivery experience, and the ability to build lasting client relationships within complex enterprise environments, particularly in banking and financial services transformation programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Meet with clients to understand business objectives, gather requirements, and analyze existing systems and processes.
- Assess current technology environments and provide strategic recommendations for improvement and modernization.
- Design, customize, and implement hardware and software solutions aligned with business and technical requirements.
- Lead technical solution discussions and provide expert guidance throughout project lifecycles.
- Create technical and functional reports, process documentation, solution designs, and implementation artifacts.
- Deliver user training and knowledge transfer sessions to client teams and stakeholders.
- Troubleshoot complex technical issues and provide effective resolution strategies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project delivery.
- Support project planning, estimation, governance, and execution activities.
- Ensure solutions adhere to enterprise architecture standards, security requirements, and best practices.
- Build strong client relationships and serve as a trusted advisor for technology transformation initiatives.
- Promote continuous improvement, innovation, and adoption of emerging technologies including AI-enabled development and automation tools.
Required Experience
- Extensive experience within one or more major software development language ecosystems such as Java, Python, .NET, or JavaScript.
- Strong expertise in associated frameworks, libraries, and development tooling.
- Extensive experience evaluating and guiding system architecture decisions to ensure scalability, maintainability, resilience, and performance.
- Strong understanding of complex enterprise systems, APIs, databases, cloud-native architectures, and distributed applications.
- Expertise in software engineering best practices, design principles, and application modernization.
- Strong knowledge of object-oriented design principles and software design patterns.
- Extensive experience with build automation tools, source control systems, and DevOps practices.
- Strong understanding of unit testing, integration testing, automated testing frameworks, and Test-Driven Development (TDD).
- Experience designing and implementing microservices-based architectures.
- Strong understanding of cloud platforms and cloud-native solution design.
Must-Have Skills
- Experience in at least one major language ecosystem:
- Java
- Python
- .NET
- JavaScript
- Similar enterprise technology stack
- Experience with frameworks related to the chosen language ecosystem.
- Experience with Enterprise Integration Patterns (EIP).
- Experience designing and implementing Microservices Architecture.
- Experience developing and consuming RESTful APIs.
Preferred Skills
- AWS and/or Microsoft Azure certifications.
- Experience in performance engineering and application optimization.
- Experience supporting transformation initiatives within:
- Mortgage Banking
- Retail Banking
- Corporate Banking
- Private Banking
- Knowledge of the Dutch language.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
- Equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience will also be considered.
