Manual/ Functional Test Lead
About the role
As a Senior Quality Engineer, you will make an impact by ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of core banking systems through robust manual and automated testing practices. You will be a valued member of the quality engineering team and work collaboratively with development, product, and business stakeholders to deliver high-quality, user-centric solutions.
In this role, you will:
- Lead quality assurance efforts for core banking applications, ensuring high standards of performance and reliability
- Design and execute comprehensive manual and automated test strategies aligned with business and technical requirements
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand system functionality and define effective test coverage
- Drive automation initiatives using tools such as Java, Selenium, and Rest Assured to improve efficiency and reduce manual effort
- Analyze defects, provide actionable insights, and deliver transparent reporting on quality metrics and outcomes

What you need to have to be considered
- Strong experience in core banking systems testing with both manual and automation approaches
- Hands-on expertise with automation tools and frameworks (Java, Selenium, Rest Assured)
- Proven ability to design and execute test plans, test cases, and regression suites
- Solid understanding of software testing methodologies, defect tracking, and quality metrics
- Experience in cards and payments domain
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across teams and stakeholders

- Experience leading QA efforts in large-scale banking or financial services programs
- Ability to mentor junior team members and drive QA best practices
- Exposure to test environment management and troubleshooting
- Experience integrating automation into CI/CD pipelines
- Proactive mindset toward continuous improvement and adoption of new testing technologies

Salary and Other Compensation
The annual salary for this position is between $53,477 to $92,500, depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
