Solution Architect – Data & AI
Job Summary
We are seeking an accomplished Data Solution Architect to join our banking technology team. This role offers a unique opportunity to define and shape data architecture strategy for large-scale, data-driven transformation programmes within a complex financial services environment.
You will bring deep expertise in designing and delivering cloud-based data platforms, combined with strong knowledge of banking data domains. As a senior leader, you will engage with C-suite stakeholders, drive data modernisation initiatives, and ensure that enterprise data solutions are scalable, secure, and aligned with regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end solution architecture for data-centric programmes, from data ingestion and storage through to consumption, analytics, and reporting
- Define and govern enterprise-wide data architecture standards, patterns, and reference models
- Design scalable and resilient data platforms supporting both batch and real-time processing, including data lakes, data warehouses, and lakehouse architectures
- Architect and deliver cloud-native and hybrid data solutions across Azure, AWS, or GCP
- Apply deep banking domain expertise to architect solutions across core banking, risk, finance, regulatory reporting, and customer data domains
- Engage with senior business and technology stakeholders to shape data strategy and translate it into actionable architecture roadmaps
- Contribute to data governance forums and ensure alignment with regulatory and compliance requirements
- Mentor and guide solution architects and technical leads across delivery teams
Essential Skills
- Extensive experience within banking or financial services (retail, corporate, investment, or transaction banking)
- Extensive expertise in data architecture, including data modelling, data pipelines, data platforms, governance, and data quality
- Strong experience delivering large-scale, data-centric transformation programmes
- Strong hands-on experience architecting solutions on major cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP
Nice to Have Skills
- Good exposure to AI/ML platforms, with familiarity in Generative AI use cases
- Relevant professional certifications (e.g., AWS/GCP/Azure Data Engineer, TOGAF, Databricks Certified Data Engineer, CDMP)
- Strong collaboration, adaptability, and entrepreneurial mindset
- Familiarity with data mesh architectures and domain-oriented data ownership models
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field
- Professional certifications in cloud, architecture, or data management are advantageous
