Responsibilities:
The SPM Technical Consultant is responsible for designing, configuring, implementing, and optimising solutions on the ServiceNow platform, with a strong focus on the Strategic Portfolio Management (SPM) module. The role requires a combination of hands-on technical expertise and functional understanding to deliver scalable, high-quality solutions aligned with business and portfolio management objectives.
The consultant will translate business requirements into effective technical configurations, contributing to the design and architecture of SPM solutions while ensuring alignment with broader ServiceNow platform capabilities. This includes implementing core SPM functionalities such as demand, project, and portfolio management, and ensuring seamless integration within the ServiceNow ecosystem.
Key responsibilities include supporting configuration and development activities, performing thorough testing and validation to ensure solutions meet requirements and maintain data integrity, and ensuring readiness for release. The consultant will also troubleshoot platform issues, contribute to performance optimisation, and ensure adherence to ServiceNow best practices, governance standards, and design principles.
The role involves producing and maintaining high-quality documentation, including configuration details, process flows, and user guidance to support ongoing operations, knowledge transfer, and audit requirements.
Working collaboratively with stakeholders and delivery teams, the consultant ensures solutions are reliable, maintainable, and aligned to organisational needs. The role also contributes to continuous improvement initiatives and supports stakeholders in maximising value from ServiceNow SPM investments through improved visibility, governance, and operational efficiency.
Key Skills & Capabilities:
- Hands-on ServiceNow configuration expertise, particularly within the SPM module
- Strong knowledge of ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management (SPM), including demand, project, and portfolio management
- Experience translating business requirements into scalable technical solutions
- Strong testing and validation capabilities, ensuring quality and data integrity
- Ability to troubleshoot issues and support platform optimisation
- Experience producing high-quality documentation and supporting knowledge management
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to deliver structured, reliable, and maintainable solutions
- Collaborative working style with stakeholders and delivery teams
