QA Test Analyst – Healthcare (PBM)
About the role
As a QA Test Analyst – Pharmacy Benefit Management (PBM), you will make an impact by leading end-to-end testing strategies and execution for complex pharmacy benefit platforms, ensuring high-quality releases that support healthcare members and clients. You will be a valued member of the quality engineering team and work collaboratively with product owners, business analysts, and PBM operations stakeholders.
In this role, you will:
- Lead comprehensive test planning by defining scope, objectives, timelines, and entry/exit criteria to ensure successful delivery of high-quality releases
- Coordinate day-to-day test execution across hybrid agile teams, ensuring sprint and release goals are met without compromising quality
- Collaborate with product owners, business analysts, and PBM stakeholders to refine acceptance criteria, clarify business rules, and ensure adequate test coverage
- Monitor and report key quality metrics such as defect density, leakage, test coverage, and execution progress through transparent dashboards
- Drive continuous improvement by standardizing test practices, improving traceability, and identifying automation opportunities for regression scenarios
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and organizational quality standards through proper documentation and audit-ready processes
- Design detailed test cases and prepare test data to validate complex PBM workflows including claims adjudication, formulary logic, and pricing scenarios
- Support distributed teams using effective collaboration tools and structured communication to manage risks, dependencies, and priorities

What you need to have to be considered
- 6+ years of experience in software testing, with strong experience leading testing for enterprise healthcare or PBM platforms
- Hands-on experience in agile methodologies including sprint planning, daily scrums, backlog refinement, and retrospectives
- Advanced proficiency with HP ALM and Salesforce for test management, traceability, execution tracking, and defect lifecycle
- Strong experience with Jira for managing user stories, defects, and workflows in cross-functional teams
- Deep domain expertise in Pharmacy Benefit Management, including claims processing, formulary management, prior authorization, and benefit accumulators
- Experience in test case design and test data preparation for complex integrated systems
- Strong understanding of quality metrics, reporting, and release readiness evaluation
- Excellent communication skills to articulate test strategies, risks, and quality status to diverse stakeholders
These will help you stand out
- Experience validating end-to-end PBM business scenarios such as member onboarding, benefit changes, and claims reversals
- Familiarity with test automation strategies and reusable test data approaches for regression efficiency
- Knowledge of SQL testing and API testing
- Strong understanding of testing processes, execution techniques, and defect management frameworks
- Experience working with distributed teams in a hybrid environment with effective collaboration practices

Salary and Other Compensation
The annual salary for this position is between $53,477 to $92,500, depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
