About the role
As a Test Manager, you will make an impact by leading end-to-end quality assurance across complex Digital and API programs, championing best-practice test methodologies and driving automation-enabled testing outcomes aligned to business value. You will be a valued member of the Digital Sales & Services Testing Chapter and work collaboratively with Delivery Managers, Architects, Engineers, Business Analysts, and cross-functional project teams.
In this role, you will:
- Define and govern end-to-end test strategies and delivery approaches across complex, multi-vendor Digital and API programs — including automation frameworks using Playwright & TypeScript within CI/CD pipelines
- Lead and assure all test deliverables — including estimates, strategies, schedules, defect management and completion reporting — while managing vendor testing partners to quality commitments
- Drive continuous improvement of testing practices, tools, and frameworks, bringing industry best practice into the team and leading others to implement it
- Collaborate with Architects, Delivery Managers, Iteration Managers, and business stakeholders to align testing outcomes with project requirements using lean and agile methods
- Establish and communicate quality metrics (defect density, automation effectiveness, cycle time) to support informed release decisions, and mentor team members to uplift overall testing capability
What you need to have to be considered
- Extensive experience as a Test Manager leading projects in the Property & Casualty Insurance domain (Auto and Home lines of business), including User Journey digitisation
- Proven expertise defining and governing test automation frameworks using Playwright & TypeScript, and Continuous Integration pipelines using Jenkins
- Highly skilled in Policy and Billing platform testing, including front-end portal integrations (Customer Sales & Servicing), API integrations, Mobile/UX testing, and SSO
- Strong experience with system configuration, integration, and end-to-end testing across complex, multi-vendor architectures, including root cause analysis of production defects and test escapes
- ISTQB Test Manager certification, with a tertiary qualification in Software Engineering, IT, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience)
These will help you stand out
- Hands-on experience with SQL and databases (Databricks, Redshift), version control tools (Git, Bitbucket, SourceTree), and CI/CD toolchains
- Familiarity with Policy Administration platforms (e.g. Guidewire, Duckcreek) and their downstream integrations, including payments, document generation, and reporting
- Exposure to AI-assisted development and testing tools such as GitHub Copilot
- Understanding of the Springboot framework and Java development IDEs (Eclipse or IntelliJ)
- Demonstrated experience working in distributed, cross-functional agile delivery teams with strong stakeholder management and executive-level communication skills
