· Experience: 6+ years overall IT experience, 3+ years Tableau platform experience
· We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Tableau Architect with strong expertise across
· Tableau Server, Tableau Cloud, and Tableau Desktop to design, scale, and govern an enterprise analytics platform. This role owns end-to-end Tableau architecture including platform stability, performance, security, governance, and user adoption.
Key Responsibilities
Tableau Platform Architecture (Server & Cloud)
- Design and implement enterprise Tableau Server and Tableau Cloud architectures
- Lead installation, upgrades, patching, migrations, and Cloud onboarding
- Define High Availability (HA), Disaster Recovery (DR), and backup strategies
- Perform capacity planning, scalability, and performance tuning
- Monitor platform health, usage, and performance using TSM, Admin Views, and logs
- Plan and execute Tableau Server to Tableau Cloud or hybrid migration strategies
Tableau Cloud Governance
- Define governance models specific to Tableau Cloud capabilities and constraints
- Manage sites, users, groups, roles, and content lifecycle
- Ensure data security, refresh schedules, and extract encryption
- Monitor Cloud usage, performance, and adoption metrics
Tableau Desktop & Development Standards
- Define and enforce Tableau Desktop development standards and best practices
- Review and optimize complex dashboards for performance and usability
- Guide developers on data modeling, calculations, parameters, and actions
- Promote certified data sources and reusable assets
- Establish visualization standards aligned to business needs
Data Architecture & Integration
- Architect optimized data sources and semantic layers for Tableau consumption
- Define extract vs live connection strategies and refresh optimization
- Partner with data engineering teams to optimize backend performance
- Integrate Tableau with cloud and on-prem data platforms
Governance, Adoption & Enablement
- Define enterprise Tableau governance frameworks (Dev/Test/Prod, certification, promotion)
- Enable self-service analytics while maintaining security and performance
- Drive adoption through enablement, training, and usage analytics
- Establish Tableau adoption and value measurement dashboards
Stakeholder Engagement & Leadership
- Act as the Tableau platform owner and trusted advisor to business and IT leaders
- Lead architecture reviews, design workshops, and roadmap planning
- Mentor Tableau Architects, developers, analysts, and administrators
- Collaborate with infrastructure, security, and data teams
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Strong hands-on expertise in Tableau Server, Tableau Cloud, and Tableau Desktop
- Advanced knowledge of Tableau Prep, Admin Views, and Tableau APIs
- Experience supporting large user bases and high-concurrency environments
- Strong SQL, data modeling, and performance tuning skills
- Experience with enterprise data platforms and cloud infrastructure
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skill
