Senior Desktop & Endpoint Support Engineer

Key Responsibilities
Manage enterprise-scale desktop environments using SCCM to ensure secure, stable, and consistent software deployment, patching, and configuration management.
Design, implement, and optimize SCCM collections, task sequences, and deployment strategies to improve operational efficiency and deployment success rates.
Create, maintain, and enhance Windows operating system images to support standardized device builds and lifecycle management.
Monitor SCCM infrastructure performance, identify bottlenecks, and proactively drive remediation activities.
Administer and support VMware Workspace ONE for mobile device enrollment, configuration, management, and security.
Configure compliance policies, device profiles, and application deployments to maintain security and regulatory compliance.
Collaborate with security teams to implement endpoint protection controls, including encryption, antivirus, and configuration baselines.
Develop automation solutions and scripts to streamline endpoint administration and reduce manual effort.
Troubleshoot complex issues related to software deployment, endpoint configuration, device enrollment, and application distribution.
Partner with Service Desk, Infrastructure, Network, and Application teams to resolve escalations and improve service delivery.
Prepare and maintain technical documentation, SOPs, and knowledge articles.
Analyze endpoint performance trends and recommend improvements to enhance user experience and operational reliability.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives supporting secure, efficient, and modern digital workplace services.

Required Qualifications
8–10 years of hands-on experience in Desktop Engineering, Endpoint Management, or End User Computing (EUC) environments.
Strong experience with Microsoft SCCM / Configuration Manager, including:
Software Distribution
Patch Management
Operating System Deployment (OSD)
Task Sequences
Collections Management
Proven expertise in VMware Workspace ONE Administration.
Strong knowledge of Windows desktop operating systems and enterprise endpoint management practices.
Experience implementing endpoint security and compliance controls.
Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex endpoint management issues.
Exposure to hybrid and remote workforce support models.
Experience with automation and scripting for operational efficiency.
Strong analytical, communication, and documentation skills.
Certifications Required
Preferred certifications include Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager certification and VMware Workspace One certification or equivalent industry recognized credentials

The annual salary for this position is between $49,001- $90,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and is subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
