About the role

As a Senior Java Developer, you will make an impact by designing, developing, and maintaining scalable enterprise applications that support critical business operations. You will be a valued member of the technology team and work collaboratively with architects, business stakeholders, product owners, and cross-functional delivery teams to build reliable, secure, and high-performing solutions.

In this role, you will:

  • Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-grade Java applications using Spring Framework and Spring Boot.
  • Build and enhance scalable Microservices and RESTful APIs that support complex business processes.
  • Integrate applications with Oracle databases, ensuring data integrity, performance, and optimized SQL execution.
  • Develop and support messaging solutions using JMS, Kafka, or similar event-driven technologies.
  • Collaborate with Agile teams to deliver high-quality software through continuous improvement, code reviews, testing, and DevOps best practices.

Based on this role’s business requirements, this is a hybrid position requiring 2 days a week in a client or Cognizant office in São Paulo, SP. What you need to have to be considered

  • 6+ years of hands-on experience developing enterprise applications using Java.
  • Strong expertise in Java, Spring Framework, and Spring Boot.
  • Experience designing and implementing Microservices and RESTful APIs.
  • Strong experience with Oracle databases, SQL development, and performance tuning.
  • Experience with messaging technologies such as JMS, Kafka, or similar platforms.
  • Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
  • Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools such as Datadog, Dynatrace, Splunk, Prometheus, Grafana, or similar.
  • Experience working with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB, Cassandra, or DynamoDB.
  • Strong understanding of Agile methodologies, CI/CD practices, and software development best practices.
  • Advanced English communication skills.

These will help you stand out

  • Experience within Financial Services domains such as Trading, Capital Markets, or Wealth Management.
  • Exposure to Generative AI tools and frameworks, including GitHub Copilot, OpenAI, Gemini, or similar technologies.
  • Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Familiarity with DevOps tools, automation, and Infrastructure as Code practices.
  • Experience contributing to application architecture and technical strategy discussions.
