About the Role
As a Proposal Writer / Proposal Management Specialist, you will drive impactful contributions and focus on outcomes. You will be a key member of the business development and proposal support team, collaborating with sales teams, subject matter experts, project managers, and key stakeholders. You will have the autonomy to lead, innovate, and improve proposal development workflows while upholding our commitment to quality and continuous learning. As part of a team of self-starters, you will create compelling proposal content, enhance knowledge management practices, and leverage AI-enabled solutions to improve proposal success and efficiency.
In this Role, You Will:
- Write proposals in clear, concise, and compelling language that effectively communicates value and solutions.
- Maintain high-quality proposal deliverables by utilizing established templates, standards, and best practices for readability, consistency, and tone.
- Manage and maintain proposal support databases, repositories, and knowledge management systems.
- Coordinate proposal reviews and approvals with project managers, sales teams, subject matter experts, and key stakeholders.
- Continuously improve proposal development processes, methodologies, coordination practices, and reusable content libraries.
- Support proposal development efforts by researching and assembling information from prior proposals, internal repositories, and other relevant sources.
- Drive productivity and innovation through effective adoption of AI tools and emerging technologies.
What You Must Have to Be Considered
- 5+ years of professional experience in content writing, editing, and proposal development.
- Demonstrated experience managing proposal writing efforts and responding to RFPs, RFIs, and related bid opportunities.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with strong editing and proofreading capabilities.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and related tools.
- Hands-on experience with AI tools such as Claude and Microsoft Copilot, including the creation of Agents and Claude Artifacts.
- Strong collaboration and stakeholder management skills with the ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams.
- Ability to coach and guide sales teams and subject matter experts on proposal writing best practices.
- Experience utilizing proposal automation platforms or similar content management technologies.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality, deadline-driven work.
These Will Help You Succeed
- Experience coordinating, maintaining, and enhancing enterprise knowledge base systems.
- Knowledge of proposal content governance and content lifecycle management.
- Familiarity with industry writing style guides and editorial standards.
- Experience identifying and implementing continuous process improvements within proposal operations.
- Passion for leveraging new technologies and AI-driven solutions to improve business outcomes.
Work Model

Based on this role’s business requirements, this is a hybrid position requiring work a minimum of 3 days a week at Cognizant office combined with remote work.
