Oracle Exadata DBA Architect (Oracle RAC, Data Guard, RMAN)
Location: Mississauga, Ontario (Hybrid) 3 days in office

Seeking an experienced Oracle Exadata DBA Architect to lead the design, implementation, optimization, and support of enterprise Oracle Exadata environments. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in Oracle Exadata, RAC, Data Guard, RMAN, and database performance tuning, with a strong focus on high availability, scalability, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
· Design and architect Oracle Exadata solutions aligned with enterprise standards and business requirements.
· Administer and support Oracle RAC, ASM, RMAN, Data Guard, and Exadata Storage Servers.
· Lead Exadata deployments, migrations, upgrades, patching, and capacity planning initiatives.
· Monitor and optimize database performance using AWR, ASH, ADDM, and SQL tuning techniques.
· Develop high availability, disaster recovery, backup, and recovery strategies.
· Perform Exadata health checks, lifecycle management, and operational governance.
· Collaborate with infrastructure, security, application, and business teams to deliver resilient and secure database platforms.
· Drive continuous improvement through automation, operational standardization, and architectural enhancements.
Required Qualifications
· Strong hands-on experience administering Oracle Exadata environments, including patching, performance tuning, capacity planning, and backup/recovery strategies.
· Expertise in Oracle RAC, ASM, RMAN, Data Guard, Exadata Storage Servers, CellCLI, and DCLI.
· Strong knowledge of Oracle Database architecture, including multitenant databases, advanced compression, and resource management.
· Experience designing and implementing high-availability and disaster recovery solutions.
· Proven experience in database infrastructure architecture, including storage, networking, and operating systems.
· Strong troubleshooting and performance diagnostics skills utilizing AWR, ASH, ADDM, and SQL tuning.
· Experience with Linux/Unix administration and automation using Shell, Python, or Ansible.
Preferred Qualifications
· Experience automating Exadata operations and deployments.
· Exposure to cloud and hybrid architectures integrating Oracle Exadata with enterprise platforms and analytics ecosystems.
· Experience working with cross-functional teams in large-scale enterprise environments.

Salary and Other Compensation:
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
Compensation: we are offering an annual salary between $69,750-$109,000
