About the role

As a Senior Java Developer, you will make an impact by designing, developing, and maintaining scalable enterprise applications using Java, Spring Boot, and Microservices technologies. You will be a valued member of the Digital Engineering team and work collaboratively with architects, quality engineering teams, DevOps/SRE teams, product owners, and business stakeholders to deliver high-quality technology solutions.

In this role, you will:

  • Design, develop, and enhance enterprise applications using Java, Spring Boot, and Microservices architecture.
  • Build, maintain, and optimize RESTful APIs and backend services to support business-critical applications.
  • Collaborate with architects, developers, QA engineers, and DevOps teams throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Troubleshoot application issues and implement scalable, high-performance solutions.
  • Mentor junior developers and contribute to technical leadership, best practices, and code quality initiatives.

Work model

Based on this role's business requirements, this is a remote position open to qualified applicants in the United States, with preference for candidates located in the Eastern Time Zone. What you need to have to be considered

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in software development using Java technologies.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Java, Spring Boot, and Microservices architecture.
  • Experience developing and consuming RESTful APIs and web services.
  • Solid understanding of object-oriented programming, design patterns, and software engineering best practices.
  • Experience working within Agile development methodologies.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and business stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.

These will help you stand out

  • Experience working in the insurance or financial services industry.
  • Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and containerized application deployments.
  • Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
  • Prior experience mentoring developers and leading technical initiatives.

Salary Transparency

The annual salary for this position is between $70,000 and $117,000 depending on experience, qualifications, and other factors permitted by law.
