Full-Stack Engineer

Day-to-day responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain scalable microservices using Java SpringBoot and Python, ensuring high availability and performance across distributed systems.
- Develop and optimize MongoDB schemas and queries to support fast, reliable data access at scale.
- Build and maintain responsive front-end features using React and Node.js, collaborating closely with product and design teams.
- Manage and improve CI/CD pipelines via Jenkins and GitLab to enable fast, reliable software delivery.
- Containerize and orchestrate services using Docker and Kubernetes, supporting seamless deployments in cloud or hybrid environments.
- Participate in architecture discussions, contributing to microservice design decisions, API standards, and system integrations.
- Investigate, diagnose, and resolve production incidents and performance bottlenecks across the full stack.
- Mentor junior engineers through code reviews, documentation, and engineering best practices.
What we're looking for
- 4+ years of hands-on software engineering experience with Java SpringBoot and/or Python in production environments.
- Strong command of microservice architecture patterns — API design, service decomposition, event-driven communication.
- Solid experience with MongoDB including schema design, indexing strategies, and query optimization.
- Working knowledge of React and Node.js for front-end and API layer development.
- Proficiency with CI/CD tooling (Jenkins, GitLab CI) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Comfort working in Unix/Linux environments with shell scripting and command-line tooling.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with a structured approach to root-cause analysis.

Annual base salary
$74,000 – $95,000
Commensurate with experience and qualifications. This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program, subject to performance and the terms of applicable plans.
