About the role

As a Senior Automation Test Engineer, you will make an impact by designing, building, and continuously improving modern test automation solutions that enhance product quality and delivery speed. You will be a valued member of a collaborative engineering team and work closely with developers, QA partners, and business stakeholders to ensure robust, scalable testing across enterprise applications.

In this role, you will:

  • Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks using Playwright and TypeScript to improve test coverage and efficiency.
  • Leverage AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Codex, or Claude to enhance automation frameworks and accelerate test development.
  • Create and execute simple to medium SQL queries to validate data accuracy and ensure data integrity across systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand complex enterprise technology stacks and translate requirements into effective automation solutions.
  • Analyze test failures, identify root causes, and partner with engineering teams to drive timely resolution.
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to best practices that improve code quality, maintainability, and testability.
  • Continuously evaluate and optimize automation tools, processes, and approaches to keep pace with evolving technologies.

What you need to have to be considered

  • 5–7 years of experience in a test automation engineering role using Playwright and TypeScript.
  • Hands-on experience using AI-powered developer tools (such as GitHub Copilot, Codex, or Claude) to enhance test automation frameworks or code quality.
  • Working knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or similar platforms.
  • Strong understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC).
  • Experience working in Agile development environments.
  • Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively within cross-functional teams.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to diverse audiences.

  • Experience automating tests for complex, large-scale enterprise applications.
  • Exposure to modern QA strategies, including shift-left testing or test optimization practices.
  • A continuous improvement mindset and passion for learning new automation tools and techniques.

Salary and Other Compensation:

Applications will be accepted until May 15th, 2026

The annual salary for this position is between $53,477 to 92,500 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
