About the role

As a Consulting Data & AI Architect, you will make an impact by helping clients move from AI experimentation to enterprise-scale, production-ready AI solutions. You will be a valued member of Cognizant’s Technology Consulting & AI practice and work collaboratively with clients, consulting leaders, engineers, and delivery teams across regions.

This role blends hands-on architecture, client advisory, and delivery leadership, with a strong focus on Generative AI, Large Language Models (LLMs), Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), and emerging agentic AI systems.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead the end-to-end architecture and delivery of enterprise-grade Data, AI, and Generative AI solutions, from concept through to production.
  • Design and implement enterprise AI maturity assessments and governance frameworks to guide responsible AI adoption across client portfolios.
  • Design and govern AI architectures leveraging LLMs, RAG patterns, vector databases, and agentic workflows to solve complex business problems.
  • Define cloud-native AI solutions across AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud, ensuring scalability, security, reliability, and cost efficiency.
  • Establish and oversee MLOps / LLMOps pipelines for model deployment, monitoring, lifecycle management, and continuous improvement.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to senior client stakeholders, translating business needs into pragmatic AI architectures and delivery roadmaps.

Work model

We believe hybrid work is the way forward as we strive to provide flexibility wherever possible. Based on this role’s business requirements, this is a hybrid position requiring 3 days a week in a client or Cognizant office in Sydney, New South Wales. What you must have to be considered

  • Proven experience designing and delivering Data, AI, or Generative AI solutions in enterprise or consulting environments.
  • Proven experience delivering AI governance or assurance initiatives
  • Strong knowledge of Responsible AI and enterprise risk frameworks
  • Strong hands-on expertise with Generative AI technologies, including LLMs, RAG-based architectures, and vector databases.
  • Experience architecting and delivering cloud-based AI solutions on AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Solid programming experience in Python, with a strong understanding of modern data and AI engineering practices.
  • The ability to engage confidently with senior business and technology stakeholders in a consulting environment.

These will help you succeed

  • Experience with agentic AI frameworks and orchestration tools such as LangChain, LlamaIndex, or similar.
  • Knowledge of data engineering concepts, including data pipelines, APIs, unstructured data processing, and integration patterns.
  • Familiarity with AI governance, security, and responsible AI practices.
  • Experience supporting presales activities, including solution shaping, architecture inputs, and proposal contributions.
  • A consulting mindset with comfort operating in ambiguous, fast-paced client environments.
