As a Senior Java Production Support Engineer, you will make an impact by ensuring the stability, performance, and continuous improvement of critical enterprise applications. You will be a valued member of the engineering and support team, working collaboratively with cross-functional stakeholders, including development, operations, and business teams.
In this role, you will:
- Provide application maintenance, monitoring, and production support to ensure high availability and performance
- Design, develop, and execute project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation
- Leverage tools such as Kibana and Datadog to monitor system health and optimize performance
- Develop automation solutions using Linux and Unix shell scripting to improve operational efficiency
- Build and enhance applications using Spring Boot, Spring Batch, and Java 17 technologies
Work model
We believe hybrid work is the way forward as we strive to provide flexibility wherever possible. Based on this role’s business requirements, this is a hybrid position requiring up to 3 days per week in a client or Cognizant office in Riverwoods, IL.

What you need to have to be considered
- Strong expertise in monitoring and observability tools such as Kibana and Datadog
- 8 years of experience in Java applications.
- Proficiency in Linux and Unix shell scripting for automation and operational support
- Hands-on experience with Spring Boot and Spring Batch frameworks
- Advanced knowledge of Java 17 and building scalable, high-performance applications
- Proven ability to manage application support and delivery in a hybrid work environment
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills

Salary and Other Compensation:

The annual salary for this position is between $ 63, 000 $ to 115,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
