GDO Outreach Operations Subject Matter Expert requires excellent communication, time management and organizational skills. The project focuses on researching and outreaching to government and non-government entities in various markets to collate geographic data for use on Google Maps through Google’s Geo Data Upload Tool. Business development and relationship building skills are required to identify and effectively communicate mutually beneficial opportunities to both partners and Google.

Required Qualification

Bachelor’s degree in business administration, in GIS, or related field

2+ years of experience in Business Development and B2B partnerships/sales, customer service

6+months of experience in collaborating with governmental entities/ handling high profile accounts

1+year of experience in people management

English - business level

LATAM languages - business level in Spanish/Portuguese

Required Competencies

Experience in Business Development and B2B partnerships/sales, customer service

Experience working in digital/technology companies with tech products

Expertise in Salesforce.com, Google Drive

Knowledge in Geographic Information System tools such as QGIS

Detailed Role & Responsibilities

Apply subject matter expertise to evaluate business processes, identify specific areas where technical solutions can drive performance.

Consult across departments, providing mentorship and specialized knowledge to the broader team

Verify technical reference information, including user guides, training documentation, and system requirements

Reporting project and subproject status and identifying insights re: partner expectations, partner user journeys, motivations & challenges, data gaps, outreach best practices, etc.

Conduct targeted research across diverse geographies to collate data from approved sources, enhancing map accuracy for end-users

Communicate our geo-mission to authoritative entities, engaging potential partners to share basemap data via the Google Maps Content Partner (GMCP) tool.

Track and document project deliverables, including partner onboarding metrics, open data source identification, and ingestion rates

Troubleshooting process and operational issues reported by authoritative data sources; ability to develop deep understanding of data formats, structures, etc.

Managing data pipeline from receiving the data captured by Partners to the creation of launch schedules ensuring highest quality of captured data as outlined in the Operational Guidelines

Performing quality control for other team members and give feedback

Planning and allocating team workloads efficiently, balancing priorities to meet business objectives while fostering a collaborative work environment

Monitoring and evaluating team performance regularly, provide constructive feedback, and support professional development and skill-building
