About the role

We are seeking a Senior SAP FICO Consultant with strong hands‑on experience across SAP Financial Accounting and Controlling. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in AP, AR, New GL, Asset Accounting (AA) and strong integration experience with FI‑MM and FI‑SD. This role involves leading complex SAP initiatives from design through implementation, cutover, and post‑go‑live support.

In this role you will

  • Lead end‑to‑end implementation and configuration of SAP FI/CO modules, including GL, AP, AR, AA, Tax, and Banking
  • Design and support complex FI‑MM (GR/IR, Invoice Verification, automatic postings) and FI‑SD (billing, revenue recognition) integrations
  • Gather, analyze, and document complex finance business requirements
  • Map current financial processes to SAP best practices to drive process optimization
  • Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for SAP Finance, resolving complex functional issues
  • Support data migration activities, cutover planning, and post‑go‑live stabilization
  • Create functional specifications (FS) for RICEFW objects and support testing activities
  • Perform unit testing and support User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
  • Mentor junior consultants and collaborate with offshore teams
  • Apply best practices related to New GL, Universal Journal (ACDOCA), Group Reporting, and SAP Fiori

What you need to have to be considered

  • 10+ years of SAP FICO functional consulting experience
  • Strong expertise in GL, AP, AR, and Asset Accounting (AA)
  • Proven experience with FI‑MM and FI‑SD integration
  • Hands‑on experience with SAP ECC and/or SAP S/4HANA Finance
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills
  • Experience working in client‑facing environments
  • Familiarity with Agile and Waterfall delivery methodologies

These will help you stand out

  • SAP S/4HANA Finance certification
  • Experience working on complex global SAP implementations
  • Strong documentation, stakeholder management, and mentorship experience

Salary and Other Compensation

The annual salary for this position is between $83,250 – $112,500, depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
