About the role

As a Python Developer, you will make an impact by building, enhancing, and supporting scalable applications and automated solutions that improve reliability, performance, and delivery speed. You will be a valued member of a collaborative technology team and work closely with product owners, engineers, and business stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions.

In this role, you will:

  • Design, develop, and maintain full-stack applications using Python and modern front-end frameworks such as React and Next.js

  • Build and maintain automated test suites, including unit, integration, and end-to-end testing

  • Design and implement CI/CD pipelines, automating build, test, and deployment workflows

  • Develop and support microservices and containerized applications, leveraging Kubernetes and modern DevOps practices

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, contributing to code reviews and following established engineering best practices

Work model:

Based on this role’s business requirements, this is a hybrid position requiring 4 days a week onsite in a Cognizant or client office in Halifax, NS. What you need to have to be considered:

  • 2–3 years of professional experience in software development and automation

  • Strong proficiency in Python

  • Hands-on experience with Apache Airflow

  • Experience with scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell

  • Practical knowledge of containerized applications, Kubernetes, and DevOps tools

These will help you stand out:

  • Experience working in CI/CD-driven environments with automated testing and deployments

  • Exposure to cloud platforms and modern infrastructure practices

  • Experience working in Agile or DevOps teams

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
