About the role
We are seeking a SAP - BTP / Fiori Lead Developer to lead the end-to-end delivery of a SAP BTP side-by-side extension solution for a major US utility client. This role involves designing and building a mobile warehouse operations application leveraging SAPUI5, TypeScript, and SAP CAP (Node.js) on SAP BTP Cloud Foundry, integrated with SAP ECC. The ideal candidate will bring strong hands-on development expertise along with the ability to guide offshore teams and drive technical excellence.
In this role you will
- Lead the technical design and implementation across SAPUI5 frontend, CAP backend, and integration layers
- Develop and deliver end-to-end Fiori applications for mobile warehouse operations using SAPUI5 and TypeScript
- Build CAP-based OData V4 services integrating with SAP ECC via RFC/BAPI using Cloud Connector
- Design and implement authentication flows using XSUAA, SAP IAS, and Okta with Principal Propagation
- Configure SAP BTP destinations and Cloud Connector across environments (DEV/QAS/PRD)
- Lead architecture documentation and ensure alignment with Clean Core principles (no custom ABAP in ECC)
- Develop reusable UI5 components including barcode scanning and mobile-friendly interfaces
- Guide offshore developers, conduct code reviews, and ensure coding standards are maintained
- Collaborate with functional teams to validate BAPI integrations and business processes
- Support SIT, UAT, and go-live activities, including post-production hypercare support
Work Model: Remote with Milestone travel to NYC
What you need to have to be considered
- 12+ years of experience in SAP development and architecture
- Strong hands-on experience with SAPUI5 / Fiori application development
- Expertise in TypeScript and modern frontend development practices
- Experience with SAP CAP (Node.js) and OData V4 service development
- Hands-on experience with SAP BTP Cloud Foundry including deployment and MTA builds
- Strong experience integrating SAP ECC using RFC/BAPI via SAP Cloud Connector
- Experience with XSUAA, SAP IAS, authentication flows, and Principal Propagation
- Strong understanding of API design, microservices, and cloud-native development
- Ability to design and deliver scalable, secure, and high-performance solutions
These will help you stand out
- Experience in Utilities domain (Transmission & Distribution)
- Knowledge of SAP WM/MM processes (MIGO, LT03/LT04/LT12, VL02N)
- Experience with barcode scanning solutions in Fiori applications
- Exposure to offline-capable applications (IndexedDB, Service Workers)
- Experience working with SAP Business Application Studio
- Strong solution architecture and documentation skills
- SAP Certifications (SAP Fiori Developer or SAP System Administration)

Salary and Other Compensation:
The annual salary for this position is between $83,250 - $112,500 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
