Job Summary

We are seeking an expert-level Cloud Engineer Architect with deep hands-on expertise in AWS Kubernetes and advanced scripting and automation using Python and related technologies. The ideal candidate will lead the architecture design and implementation of cloud-native containerized solutions at enterprise scale while driving engineering excellence across the team. This role requires both strategic architectural thinking and strong technical execution.

Responsibilities

Architect and lead the design development and implementation of cloud-native solutions leveraging Amazon EKS Kubernetes Docker AWS CloudFormation and Jenkins.

Build automation frameworks and tooling using Python Bash and other scripting languages to streamline deployments operational workflows and infrastructure lifecycle management.

Drive containerization strategy provides deep technical expertise in the deployment scaling and lifecycle management of containerized applications on Kubernetes EKS.

Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using AWS CloudFormation with working knowledge of Terraform and/or AWS CDK.

Design and maintain CICD pipelines using Jenkins and modern DevOps toolchains to support reliable repeatable delivery.

Collaborate cross functionally with Development Security SRE and Product teams to design scalable resilient and highly available environments.

Ensure security and compliance of applications and infrastructure within the AWS Cloud environment aligning with enterprise governance and regulatory standards.

Own technical documentation including system architecture data flow diagrams runbooks operational guides and user documentation.

Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues across applications networking and infrastructure layers.

Monitor and optimize system performance analyze metrics to identify bottlenecks and implement improvements for cost reliability and performance.

Drive innovation by staying current with advancements in cloud container and DevOps technologies and incorporating them into the companys solutions.

Mentor and uplift junior and mid-level engineers provide guidance on best practices design patterns and code quality.

Contribute to continuous improvement by sharing knowledge leading technical discussions and fostering a culture of engineering excellence.

Required Qualifications

8 to 10 years of hands-on experience in cloud engineering DevOps or platform engineering roles.

Expertlevel proficiency in AWS including EC2 EKS IAM VPC Lambda S3 RDS CloudFormation CloudWatch Route 53 and related services.

Advanced Kubernetes expertise production grade experience with Amazon EKS Helm operators networking RBAC and network policies.

Strong Docker proficiency and command of container orchestration best practices.

Expert-level scripting skills in Python working proficiency in Bash and at least one additional language Go TypeScript Java etc.

Hands-on experience with Jenkins and modern CICD pipeline design.

Deep understanding of Infrastructure as Code GitOps practices and DevOps principles.

Strong grasp of cloud security networking fundamentals and compliance frameworks.

Proven track record of architecting and delivering large-scale production-grade cloud solutions.

The annual salary for this position is between $49,001– $105,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and is subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
