In this role you will serve as the primary point of contact for members and providers, helping them navigate their benefits and resolve inquiries with care and professionalism.

In this role, you will:
•Respond to inbound calls from members and healthcare providers regarding insurance benefits, coverage, and plan details.
•Assist callers with claims inquiries, including status updates, denials, and appeals process.
•Verify member eligibility and provide accurate information on coverage options.
•Resolve member and provider issues promptly, ensuring a positive experience throughout every interaction.
•Document all interactions accurately in the system in accordance with company policies.
•Collaborate with internal teams to escalate and resolve complex issues.
•Maintain a high level of professionalism, empathy, and confidentiality in all communications.
•Perform other duties as assigned.

What you must have to be considered:
•High school diploma or GED equivalent
•Strong verbal and written communication skills
•Ability to actively listen, solve problems, and multi-task in a challenging environment.
•Basic computer proficiency and ability to navigate multiple systems simultaneously.
•Reliable, punctual, and collaborative work ethic

These will help you stand out:
•Prior customer service experience in the healthcare industry
•Familiarity with health insurance terminology
•Experience with healthcare or insurance platforms

Hourly Rate and Other Compensation:
The hourly rate for this position is $14.00 per hour depending on the experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
