About the role
As a Senior QA Engineer – Guidewire & Test Automation, you will make an impact by ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of Guidewire InsuranceNow solutions. You will play a key role in validating new functionality, configurations, integrations, and releases while shaping test strategy and automation practices. You will be a valued member of a cross‑functional delivery team and work closely with Developers, Business Analysts, Technical Leads, and Product stakeholders.
In this role, you will:
• Design, execute, and maintain functional, integration, and regression test cases for Guidewire InsuranceNow enhancements and defect fixes.
• Validate InsuranceNow configurations, including rating rules, underwriting workflows, policy lifecycle changes, and forms generation.
• Test API and integration workflows between InsuranceNow and external systems such as consumer portals, agent portals, and third‑party data providers.
• Build, enhance, and refactor automated test frameworks and suites, integrating them into CI/CD pipelines.
• Identify, document, track, and validate defects, supporting release readiness, UAT, and production issue investigation when needed.

What you need to have to be considered
• Hands‑on experience testing Guidewire InsuranceNow implementations and enhancements.
• Strong expertise in test automation, including framework design, maintenance, and execution.
• Solid understanding of test planning, test case development, and defect tracking best practices.
• Experience validating REST APIs, JSON payloads, and end‑to‑end system integrations.
• Working knowledge of SQL and database validation to support functional and integration testing.
These will help you stand out
• Experience with automation and performance testing tools such as Selenium, Java, JUnit, Cypress, Playwright, and k6 (tool‑agnostic mindset).
• Strong object‑oriented test automation design skills and framework ownership experience.
• Experience supporting regression testing during Guidewire upgrades and production releases.
• Familiarity with Agile delivery practices and tools such as Jira.
• Domain expertise in Property & Casualty insurance, including policy lifecycle, rating, underwriting, endorsements, billing, renewals, and forms.

Salary and Other Compensation:
Applications will be accepted until May 15, 2026.
The annual salary for this position is between $71,100 - $112,500 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
