QA Lead (Allegro Application Testing)

We are looking for a QA Lead with strong experience in the Allegro application and the energy & trading domain. In this role, you will own the end-to-end testing lifecycle—driving test planning, STLC execution, SQL/API validation, and defect management—while partnering with business stakeholders to ensure seamless user acceptance testing (UAT) and high-quality software delivery.

In this role, you will

Business Analysis

  • Engage with business stakeholders to elicit, document, and validate requirements.
  • Produce clear and detailed user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows, and use cases.
  • Facilitate workshops and requirement walkthroughs with both business and technical teams.
  • Identify gaps, dependencies, and risks early in the delivery lifecycle.
  • Maintain and manage the requirements traceability matrix throughout the project.

Quality Assurance

  • Develop comprehensive test strategies, test plans, and test cases aligned to business requirements and acceptance criteria.
  • Execute functional, regression, integration, and UAT test cycles.
  • Log, track, and manage defects through to resolution.
  • Work closely with developers to ensure defects are understood and fixes are verified.
  • Support and coordinate User Acceptance Testing with business stakeholders.
  • Contribute to test automation where applicable.

Collaboration & Governance

  • Act as the single point of contact between business stakeholders and the QA/delivery team.
  • Ensure requirements and test coverage are aligned at every stage of delivery.
  • Participate in sprint ceremonies — planning, reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Produce clear status reports on testing progress, defect trends, and quality metrics.
  • Champion quality standards and best practices across the team.

Required skills

Working arrangements

Based on this role’s business requirements, this is an onsite position requiring 5 days a week in a client or Cognizant office in Calgary, AB.
