Associate Service Designer

00069357421

If you’re a Junior Service Designer looking for a step up and want to work on meaningful, high-impact services used by millions of people, this is a role worth exploring.

We’re looking for an Associate Service Designer to support experience design across major public sector transformation programmes — bringing together research, strategy and service thinking to help design services that are simpler, smarter and more human.

You should apply if you’re excited by visible impact, complex problem-solving and the opportunity to keep building your service design career. You’ll work with experienced stakeholders and cross-functional teams, contribute to major programmes, and grow in a global organisation that invests in design, learning and progression.

What you’ll be doing

In this role, you’ll support service design activity across discovery and delivery, helping clients understand user needs, map complex journeys and create services that work better for everyone.

• Support co-creation workshops with stakeholders to help shape practical, user-centred solutions.

• Create customer journey maps and service blueprints to identify pain points and opportunities for improvement.

• Use research, insight and service design methods to inform product and service direction.

• Work closely with multidisciplinary teams in agile environments to turn ideas into better service outcomes.

• Contribute to client discussions and team collaboration with clear thinking, curiosity and a strong service design perspective.

• Help build a positive and collaborative design culture by sharing ideas, methods and best practice.

What you’ll bring

· Service Design experience gained in consultancy, agency or client-side environments.

· Experience contributing to end-to-end services across digital and non-digital channels.

· Confidence in facilitating workshops, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and engaging stakeholders at different levels.

· Experience turning research, insight and business needs into clear service improvements.

· Good knowledge of journey mapping, service blueprinting, usability and accessibility principles.

· Comfort working in agile delivery environments with designers, researchers, product teams and developers.

· A portfolio with case studies that show your approach, contribution and design thinking.

· Experience with tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, Axure or similar.

· Knowledge of GDS standards would be an advantage.
