About the role
As a Databricks Administrator, you will make an impact by designing, optimizing, and governing scalable Databricks environments that enable secure, high-performance data processing and analytics. You will be a valued member of the data platform team and work collaboratively with data engineers, analysts, and cloud platform stakeholders to deliver robust and compliant data solutions.
In this role, you will:
- Design scalable Databricks workspace architectures aligned with enterprise standards, security, and compliance requirements
- Configure and administer Databricks environments to ensure secure access, efficient cluster utilization, and cost optimization across environments
- Implement and manage Unity Catalog to enable standardized data governance, metadata management, and fine-grained access controls
- Develop and optimize Databricks SQL models and reusable data assets for analytics and reporting consumers
- Build and orchestrate data pipelines using Databricks Workflows and PySpark, ensuring reliable and timely data delivery

What you need to have to be considered
- Strong experience administering Databricks environments, including workspace configuration, cluster management, and security controls
- Proven expertise in Unity Catalog, data governance frameworks, and access management best practices
- Hands-on experience with PySpark for large-scale data processing and transformation
- Solid experience building and managing Databricks Workflows and SQL-based analytics solutions
- Experience monitoring platform performance, troubleshooting issues, and driving operational improvements
These will help you stand out
- Experience establishing Databricks best practices (workspace organization, CI/CD, monitoring, governance frameworks)
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP) and integration with data lakes/warehouses
- Experience conducting code reviews and enforcing engineering standards for data pipelines
- Strong documentation skills (runbooks, knowledge articles, onboarding materials)
- Ability to collaborate cross-functionally and translate technical requirements into scalable solutions

We regularly assess market data to ensure we offer a competitive compensation package for our associates. The base salary for this position ranges between $100,000 - $120,000 per year. Where the successful candidate may fall within the range depends on relevant education, work and/or management experience and other business-related and job-necessary qualifications. This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual performance-based bonus, as well as benefits that support your physical, mental and financial wellbeing.
